What would the world look like today if gunpowder had never been invented?
>>32638568
Breaking news, a man just invented gun powder.
More nogun faggets like op running around

4th of july would be very dull
>>32638568
Less dragon dildos in our current situation
>>32638568
tiny mechanical catapults for home defense poiposes.
And of course, the skin walkers would rule the world by now.
>>32638648
Tell me more about these skinwalkers you speak of traveler
Weebs would be our supreme overlords and our bulls.

Pneumatics, pneumatics everywhere.

I really enjoy Ian-san's Forgotten Blades reviews, he always goes into such great detail. His 3 blade videos are fun too, especially when he dresses up. Did you guys see his Mongolian video? It was pretty funny watching him try to accurately shoot that compound bow from horseback.

I didn't know about forgotten blades.... D:
probably still in the medieval era. no metallurgy for expansion/explosion = no exploitation of steam, that in turn = no internal combustion engine, that in turn = no jet turbine.
electronics etc may be similar but unlikely without the steam engine pushing the industrial revolution.
so chances are, it would be similar to a gun-free 17th century, still in the age of sail.

Gunpowder would have been invented eventually. Killing from a distance has always been the aim of humans.
>>32638568
>for some reason the chemical reaction of gunpowder never existed
>some smart guy invents air power guns
>air powered weaponry is much more advanced and widespread in alt-2017

BAN HIGH CAPACITY ASSAULT CROSSBOWS YOU ONLY NEED A SLING
>>32638600
Immediately thought of this. If it had not happened, it would have.
>>32638663
I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.
I think feudalism and monarchies would have stuck around longer since warrior elites would matter more. Sure air rifles exist but they'd be more expensive and complex than flintlocks, so good luck fielding comparable amounts
We either
-wouldn't have rockets as well (preventing space flight, satellites etc, very different world)
Or
-we'd be shooting each other with gyrojets
>>32640065
actually...
you could probably still have rockets, just a matter of the propellant needing to be different.
>>32638953
steam engine was like 700, it isnt implausible that it would pop up on its own eventually.
>>32638631
everythings chrome in the future, squidward.
>>32638568
Likely, the military elite would still hold significant power in society.
>>32640347
Without creating simple gunpowder fireworks and the like, we never would have discovered how propellant and focused expansion work; no rockets.
>>32638568
Very sad, dull, and intact.
Actually, scratch the intact part. Everything would be made out of white phosphorous, napalm, toxic gasses, and biological weapons. Everything would be dead.
But this question is stupid anyways because there's no reason people smart enough to make any of the former wouldn't be smart enough to make some fireworks. You might as well ask what the world would look like if everybody was retarded, but africa already answered that question for you.
>>32638568
There wouldn't be any photographic imaging, in which we could shitpost all day. Oh wait that wouldn't matter anyway when three people would have came up with the same idea.
