My suggesion (and what currently run)

DD5M1 + Nightforce ATACR F1 4-16 with your choice of mount/ring. I personally prefer light rings for this platform, although I run a geissele super precision.

Then consider getting a Rugged Surge suppressor.

If I had $5,000 to spend specifically on an AR-10 right at this minute, I'd probably buy a Knight's Armament Company SR-25 of some kind, probably the ACC variant with the either the Keymod or MLOK URX IV hand guard.

That would be pretty much all of that $5k though, but I'd probably have an optic already lined up at that point anyway, likely Kahles or Swarovski to really round out my final cool guy score.

Or this. I really like Daniel Defense's stuff and their AR-10s look quality. Probably cheaper than the SR-25 too so you can throw a nice scope in with it and you wouldn't be losing much in parts quality versus the Knight's either.

Only thing else in the cool guy 7.62 category that really interests me personally, is a SCAR. Up to you to decide if it's really a meme or not, I'm still on the fence myself but I'd be inclined to at least recommend it as an option.
