I'm not an ARfag, but why design a rifle for combat with a non-reciprocating bolt handle and no forward assist? What if your bolt doesn't go into battery? you're just supposed to rack it again and again, ejecting perfectly fine ammo the whole time? that seems dangerous and wasteful. both the G3 and FAL have this problem. was it simply not important to them? did they simply not realize that sometimes your bolt doesn't seat all the way?

on a modern rifle meant for fighting wars, the operator should either be able to punch the bolt forward with the handle, or with a specific control.
