Hey /k/ civvy fag here. I've never discharged a firearm or anything, but I'm really interested in films that portray accurate scenarios with weapons and tactics.

I'm just working on a small animation project about an insertion team entering an hostile territory with APCs and heading through buildings, etc. What are the weapons operators use and some formations? I'm planning to have about 6 good guys, (probably SAS) but then again it doesn't matter.

I'm aiming for realistic looking loadouts for a squad and how they would place themselves in formation.

Any advice from operators would be cool.

Like I said, I'm a civvy fag. So I don't know what kind of weaponry you're allowed/use for something like a breach.

Also, if you guys could tell me. Is this chart legit?
>>
As far as the chart goes it conflicts with the Australian Army signals we use so I'd say it's fiction. Better to get an American LRO to confirm for you though.

If you're having an SAS breach team they would likely arrive quickly in a 4wd rather than an apc. APCs are geared more towards conventionAl warfighting.

In terms if weapons think M4s woth a lot of Gucci attachments and sights. MP5s and shotguns are also very popular for urban clearance. Depending in the presence of civpop will dictate what kind and it many grest design are used. Grenades are very important.

In terms of uniforms just referance a fee pictures from Afghanistan or police raids. That should set you on the right track.
>>
For formations a line or a double diamond would likely be sedan in an urban area.

For troopers in the squad generally marksman up front, lMg on flank of mostly likely enemy attack. Grenadier reare and 2ic/ Secco on the other flank.

Sandniggers count as civpop?
>>
>>32621145
Only when the cameras are rolling.
>>
>>32621184
Good. :^)
>>
>>32621121

Would it be acceptable to have an lmg amongst the squad in a diamond formation?

Here's what I'd assume would make sense.

1 m249
2 M16s
1 Remington
1 MP5

Or am I retarded? I'd assume that the rifles are versatile and would allow for easy distance change. Then again, civvyfag.

Just watch SAS Survival Secrets on youtube. Also they use Diemaco C8s nowadays as their standard rifle, GPMG for patrol support weapon, also use L96/L11A1 for long range. Also remember theres multiple troops for multiple scenarios: e.g Air Troop, Boat Troop, Mountain Troop, Mobility Troop, CounterTerrorist unit, Counter Revolutionary War unit, etc. Also, within each patrol, each is individually specialised, e.g signals, medic, demolition, sniper, linguist, and theres also a large degree of cross training in case someone gets hit.

Give them straight M4s.
LMG would be retarded, MP5 you could get away with since law enforcement.
If its a civie setting two lines using the APC as cover, in sandnigger setting hug the walls and cover the opposite side Windows.

Lol i worded the OP poorly, meant to say the team(SAS) is injecting into a urban sandnigger town with APC(armored personnel carrier) and getting out on foot to inject to a general building complex with a courtyard.
>>
>>32621287
> injecting

Ingress, infiltrate, or insertion. For some reason 'injecting' ruffles my jimmies.
>>
>>32621310
Will remember.
>>

Also look up MOUT (Military Operations in Urban Terrain) tactics and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) like room clearance, stacking, breaching, cover & movement techniques, moving with vehicle support etc. Will probably help

You need to adjust the size of your team to the size of the structure. It doesn't matter what the each mans skill level is you just need bodies to maintain critical areas like hallways and stairs and make sure no one pops out of a room you haven't fucked up yet.
You also ideally need to clear the whole structure before the enemy can rally to any degree.

If the size of the building is significantly larger than like your average suburban house then six men are going to rapidly bleed initiative after initial entry. Ideally you also have guys outside the building and probably in adjacent buildings for obvious reasons.
Of course it's your narrative but make sure it makes sense, if only six dudes are going to clear a huge ass building then it has to be some kind of an emergency.

Once the enemy is fully aware of your presence you'll have to slow down and start using shit like reflections and more grenades and going around obvious doors to secondary doors/windows or just blowing through fucking walls. If shit really slows down you'll have to pie and peek more deliberately where as in the initial assault you can more or less run in and you'll generally do very well with shock on your side.

Obviously the base initiative of the enemy is going to change depending on who they are and where they are. Killing drug dealers in a den in the burbs is (probably) going to be easy as fuck compared to killing soldiers in a garrisoned structure in a war zone even if both are caught with their pants down. Not because they're unskilled drug dealers so much as because they're not expecting to be in a fight with another human being nor do they want to be.

Just to keep it in perspective, assaulting a structure without the element of surprise is really fucking difficult despite how movies and dramatizations make it look.
It's high level dynamic problem solving that can result in unorthodox solutions so there might be room for humor in your narrative if you're clever.

Thanks bruv. Appreciate it.

The premise of the video is sort of a dramatic story of a music video with Daft Punk's aerodynamic.

It's about a squad arriving to an building, exit the vehicles and use hand signals/ stealth to take out the front two guards and proceed to enter the building firing off rounds with professionalism. The only audio is the music and I want to make a story with suspense and a twist at the end.
