>What gun to buy for around ~$5000
I would prefer something exotic like a NDM or maybe even one of the new 249s rather than something Basic like a gucci AR. I am perfectly content buying something that will sit in the safe most of its life.
>If I cant come to a good conclusion I may say fuck it and buy pic related.
>>32603805
Most people here have a long list of guns we would immediately buy if we had the money, but you instead got the money and now are randomly searching for an expensive firearm you might like on a whim...
Buy the bike it will bring you more enjoyment
>>32603805
A semi 249 would be dumb, not gucci ar dumb tho. Buy a bunch of gun or honestly buy the dirt bike.
>>32603805
>KTM shit
At least buy a 690 Enduro R. Me? I'd take that money and go buy a Husky 701 Enduro.
>>32603805
honestly a bike of any kind is much more fun than a $5000 gun unless youre super into prescision shooting or can get a full retard MAC10. I prefer street legal bikes to dirtbikes any day tho. my first Yamaha v star was less than 5K and I had some great times with it.
>>32603805
if you want a firestarter you can get a good butane lighter for a lot less than a KTM
buy a nice precise magnum rifle with good optic and land some click shots
>>32603856
I think the Husky 701 is around 15k which is insane IMO. The new KTM 500 is 10k which is already alot.
>>32603886
It's 11k MSRP (so probably more like 9-10 on the market) which is awesome considering it's a more powerful 690 Enduro R that has everything bad about the 690 Enduro R eliminated. Plus you get special snowflake points. KTM bikes are a meme so I regularly see them go for above MSRP.
>>32603924
Really? Mind posting a link to that? If thats the case I will surely get the 701, it is everything I would want, although I was thinking it was going to cost 4-5000 more than the KTM.
And hate KTM all you want, they are the only (sizable) company offering modern Dual Sports in the US.
>>32603805
$2500 for a Les Baer
$1500 in reloading supplies
$500 in magazines
$500 for gun belt, holsters, carrying case
Basically have everything you need in your lifetime to go pistol shooting on the weekends.
>>32603805
You are talking about buying $10,000 dollar motorcycles.
Might I recommend a GS800 or Africa Twin 1000.
Can be had in the $10,000 range with less 3000 miles. 1-2 years old.
>>32603946
>Really? Mind posting a link to that?
To what, exactly? The MSRP?
>And hate KTM all you want
I don't hate KTM, but they are a meme. Every dudebro and his kid wants a KTM bike. Unfortunately they are also absorbing all the cool niche bike manufacturers like Husky and Husaberg, which is really cutting down on competition.
>>32603989
>Africa Twin 1000.
Waaaay too big. The F700GS might be a good option for OP, though.
>>32603990
A link to the price of the new 2017 bike, it is going to have a overhauled engine and it seems to be worlds better than the 2016. I see the 11.300 MSRP for the 2016's but nothing on the 17's.
Dont forget about Beta, they just came out with a 2 stroke that has oil injection.
>>32604003
>>32603989
BMW bikes are way too tame. If I get one I plan on supermotoing it.
>>32603990
They don't even bring the good KTM bikes into the USA...
Guaranteed their 700-800 adventure bike is not going to come out in the USA. They are going to continue to sell the fat as fuck 1100+ bikes.
At least Honda made a 1000 that runs like a 700 and BMW offers bikes down to 650 in the USA.
An NDM-86 would be awesome anon, do it.
>>32604040
I dont think the 390 adventurer exists anywhere.
>>32604043
The thing to remember about guns
>buy motorcycle it will depreciate (and fast)
>buy a pre-ban gun and it will gain value
Its alot smarter to buy a Pre-ban gun. You could even get something neat like a FNC and a Poly Tech for that money. Or get pic related
>>32604032
Supermotos are the gayest thing ever. It's the equivalent to open carry fags.
>>32604075
It will be out internationally soon. Honda have the new 250 Rally bike and Yamaha has something up their sleeves. Fuck even the Green Machine has come out with a Versys in the 300-400 relm this year and that while overpriced is available in the USA.
>>32604032
>A link to the price of the new 2017 bike
Oh, there isn't one, but I'd be highly surprised if it was much more than the 2016. The 2017 has pretty minor changes.
>>32604040
>They don't even bring the good KTM bikes into the USA...
What would those be?
>>32604040
>They don't even bring the good KTM bikes into the USA...
blame the fuckin EPA - they ruin everything for everyone except letting GM/Ford/Chevy slide on their massive smoggers
>>32604115
the 2017 has a completely new motor, its supposed to be up 6HP and up 4 or 8 in Torque, Also has 2 crank balancers, from what I had read people are estimating it will cost $14-15000.
>>32604131
>completely new motor
It's got like a revised stroke. That's not a major change in the automotive industry. That's a regular MY thing.
>from what I had read people are estimating it will cost $14-15000.
Either they are high or Husky is. Maybe KTM is. I wouldn't bet on it being 15 thousand dollars, that's just so far away from literally everything it competes against.
>>32604130
You really don't know shit.
>>32604165
how is that not true?
Does anyone build semi STG44? I would love to get a kit and have it built.
>>32604390
Wait for the HMG>>32599978
>>32604409
>>32604409
>>32604409
I want an original, the HMG is a piece of shit that doesnt even look the part. At least the PTR shitcan looked the part.
>>32604297
Because domestic manufacturers don't get a break and emissions standard for motorcycles are basically nonexistent.
>>32604512
EPA is seriously stepping their game up after the TDI crisis. The KTM 500s were actually held up here recently due to emissions.
get one of these
>>32604546
Held up isn't denied. The EPA is going to hold them to the standards, but the standards aren't that stringent. I'd rather the EPA go after heavy duty trucks.
>>32603954
Good plan.
>>32603805
nutn fancy get off /k/
this isnt /k/ related
>>32604572
Those are shit. Literally a meme gun
>>32605284
What? Everyone praises them
>>32603946
Get a DR650 for brand new instead of a KTM
Sure they run like tractors but they're reliable as a tractor as well, and don't have as many electrics that could get fucked up. Most of the time you can fix a DR650 with duct tape, WD40 and some wrenches
>>32606318
>Get a DR650 for brand new
Fuck no. If you're going to get a DR650, just get a used one. Stop whining about electronics, they're the most reliable part of any vehicle.
