I don't even know what to say honestly, i just had to share this with someone.

ww1 fan?
gun needs to be at least 26 inches long with 16 inch barrel if you're putting a stock on it.

Probably the closest Russians are allowed to get to owning an actual gun.

It's a bunch of shitty aftermarket mods on a Ruger Mk3.

What's the problem? Yes it's silly, but I bet it's a lot of fun. Not like it's an old luger or something butchered.

>>32586854
No, that's complete opposite. Here in Russia civilians aren't allowed to own guns shorter than 80cm and with suppressors/silencers.

I think she knows. Since fucking when do Russian broads have guns though? I didn't think you guys were allowed to even have knives or you'd overthrow the communists or some shit?

Of course we do, what's your point?

Everything about that picture is trash, but I've fired a revolver converted to a shoulder stock once and it actually was pretty fun.

>Since fucking when do Russian broads have guns though?
Since never. In general, even men in Russia don't bother with guns, let alone women. So either you're talking with a liar who likes to milk gullible western guys for attention or you've met a female equivalent of fedora-wearing virgin Japanese blade expert.

>I didn't think you guys were allowed to even have knives
Yeah, sort of. We can own most of the knives but some (like Ka-Bar) are only sold to those who have fun license. Oh, and you can only use them for hunting/sporting purposes, if you're using it as a defensive measure you're in trouble (most of the time). Same goes to funs.
>>
>>32586915
>puts holes in target quietly and comfortably
>easily convertible to pistol configuration again in a few seconds
>It's trash!
You guys are too obsessed with aesthetics over performance.
>>
>>32586906
We do. But here's the thing: while person CAN own a pistol, he or she must keep it at range and can only use it at range. So you can't take it home with you and that constitutes "not allowed to own" in my book. The only pistols/revolvers civilians are allowed to own are non-lethal ones and it's a pain in the ass to own them because if you want to take your pistol into another region you've got to notify the police and shit.

>>
>>32586932
Aren't you guys pretty good at biathlons though? I always thought countries who did gun sports good would have a bit of a gun culture...
>>
>>32586953
>Aren't you guys pretty good at biathlons though?
I think so, my father loves to watch the competitions but he never owned a gun in his life (maybe because back in Soviet days gun laws were even more strict) so it seems that there's no connection between biathlons and gun culture.

On the bright side, more and more people are becoming gun owners so hopefully one day Russia will have it's gun culture back, like in good ol' imperial days, before bolsheviks came and screwed it up.

Well, first, I don't have a girlfriend.
Second, I'm a great believer in traditional gender roles so I do not believe that women should own guns.
Third, even if I did have a girlfriend, she wouldn't appreciate the gift because Russian women are quite traditional in that respect.
Fourth, she would need a license to own it, you can't just give a firearm as a present.

Fifth — and the most sad part of all this — in order to be able to buy a rifled weapon I've got to continuously own a smoothbore firearm FOR FIVE FUCKING YEARS. Fuck, I'm 24 now and I won't be able to hold the love of my life (AR-15 based rifle that is) in my hands until I'm 29. You know, I've been in a gun store on the New Year's Eve and she was there too, behind the glass, five centimeters away from my hand and I just stood there for a couple of minutes dreaming of the day I will finally make her my own. Words can't express how I envy the guys from /arg/ who are playing with their pretty little ARs as I'm typing this. I bet they enjoy dressing them up in a fancy new stuff and then taking them to the range, those lucky bastards. One day I'll join them. Maybe I should explore the opportunities of moving into some more gun-friendly country and thus shorten the wait by a year or two but whatever happens I know in my heart that this day would arrive, it's only a question of "when".
>>
>>32587025
I'm hoping for more peaceful scenario, when a group of people united by a common interest legally changes the laws and the public opinion in their favor.

Yeah, I know it virtually never happened throughout the entire Russian history but a man can dream.
>>
>>32587060
>I'm hoping for more peaceful scenario, when a group of people united by a common interest legally changes the laws and the public opinion in their favor.
Fucking never. And it's not because "muh oppressive Russian government doesn't want civilians to have guns" but just market too small. "Russian gun culture" just doesn't exist.
>>
>>32587054

Shotguns are the most common "starting weapon" in Russia. I think he already bought one or two.
>>
>>32587098
I'm thinking about buying a Vepr-12 with 43cm barrel this month. There are kits (basically a 14cm nozzle with internal rifling) on market that allow to make Veprs somewhat accurate on >50m distances (because nobody wants to wait 5 years to hit something beyond hand-reaching range) but it's still not a rifle and it's still not an AR-15 based one.

Lucky you, I hope you'll find that the prize was worth the wait. What's for me, I'm trying just not to think about the eternity that separates me and the love of my life. Oh well, the taller the tree is the sweeter the peach.
>>
>>32587052
Huh, yeah. The page calls it a Ruger III
>>
>>32586832

That would be totally legal in here (Funland). Suppressors are legal as far as one has a permit for the firearm in which they are used and shoulder stock that can be attached/removed without tools is also legal. From legal point of view this would still be considered a pistol. No surprise that suppressor, bipod and shoulder stock are all manufactured same Finnish company:

Of course they aren't, how can a healthy male find the false idea of "muh strong independent womyn" attractive is beyond my understanding. But I have to admit, it's interesting to see how popular culture can swing the sexual preferences of population into desirable direction and how susceptible an average person to its message.

He's just a Russian nationalist, forgetting the fact that Russia before the commies was somehow even more shit than immediately after. The Russian empire still practised serfdom, farmers were more or less slaves to the tsar. The nobles no doubt had a great time going hunting in their lands and such, but the general population didn't get to enjoy that. I don't think there was a gun culture outside the aristocracy, really. The commie revolution happened because the commies got hold of the guns the empire intended to use in ww1, not from peasant militias.

This is perfectly legal in Finland

Since SBR's are really hard to get most people will just slap a stock on pistol and treat it as a carbine in competitions and such

I was quite surprised too but turns out it did. I'm not sure about the laws but there are plenty of pictures of weapon catalogs dating back to late 1800's-early 1900's, some of them even guarantee the delivery of a weapon by postal service.

The text under the title of picrelated states that "...those newest shot guns are especially practical on (some word that I don't recognize), mounted hunting for blackcocks, on swimming prey and on all other occasions when long range or rapid fire is needed". Someone paid 48 rubles for Winchester Model 1 back in the day. Today you can buy a cheeseburger in McDonalds with that money.
>>
>>32588953
Really? I've been told that I should not expect an acceptable accuracy from an usual slug at range exceeding 30-35 yards/meters.
>>
>>32587036
It is.
I know a guy who has a semi only APS with a shoulder stock. Our local range had an "SBR" category in the US .22LR MP5 clone with a side folding stock and like a 10 or so inch barrel.

Some germans are trying to make a plastic kit to put your glock or p99 in and it uses airshit parts to pull the trigger at 600 rpm, no laws against it yet.

There are regulations to what category your gun falls into tho, depending on country.
>>
>>32588894
Ownership of rifles was severely restricted after the revolution, however obtaining shotguns was still relatively easy for farmers etc.

Its interesting to note that many Russian made double-barrel shotguns often have one extremely tight choke and one open one, the tight one being intended for use at longer range and against larger game, in an attempt to bridge the gap to a rifle.
>>
>>32589581

And I've been killing deer with Brenneke Classic Magnums in a cylinder-bore, smoothbarrel 870 Riot at or beyond 150 yards for 20 years.

Whoever's been telling you that is either a retard or can't shoot.
>>
>>32589581
>>32589711
That's been the standard in double-barrel shotguns since the dawn of chokes though. Usually the second-fired barrel will have the tighter choke.
>>
>>32587166
>32587166
The page calls the stock a Ruger mk3. It specifically states it's a Contender pistol though.
>>
>>32586953
>I always thought countries who did gun sports would have a bit of a gun culture
Explain why the Chinese do so well at trap and air rifle/air pistol then, since civilian ownership of firearms (including airguns and bows/crossbows) is completely illegal there?
