Why doesn't Beretta just make a tilting barrel version of the Beretta 92? It'd be simpler, cheaper, and more reliable than the tilting locking meme.

except it wouldn't be any of those.

>Why doesn't Beretta manufacture a new pistol since it would be cheaper and more reliable than continued production of their current well established pistol
>>32583347
They did, it was called the PX4
despite being fantastic it flopped.
>>32583405
You're an idiot
>>32583306
The locking block design requires more parts, and is therefore less reliable, and more complex/expensive.
>>32583347
It'd be an improvement of the gun, not a new gun. It'd look almost the same.
> "New Beretta 9200FS, now with tilting barrel!"
/k/'s reaction:
REEEEEEEEEEE WHY THEY CHANGE THIS CLASSIC DESIGN MODERN HANDGUNS ARE SHIT FUCK BERETTA IM NEVER BUYING ONE OF THEIR GUNS AGAIN
>>32583473
More complex? Debatable. More reliable? Doubtful. Memes and massively abused USGI guns aside, the 92 is easily among the most reliable handguns on the market.
>>32584152
The Glock has its locking lug and barrel combined, the 92 has them in two separate parts. The increased complexity may be minor, but it's not debatable.
>>32583433
Dubs of truth
Except not, because the PX4 is trash.
>>32584181
The only reliability a glock has is that it will reliably wound its owner.
>>32584210
He called him an idiot because the PX4 isn't a tilting barrel design.
>>32583405
>the PX4 is a tilting barrel version of the 92
Really deprimes my casings
>>32586593
who are you quoting?
Italians are retarded
>>32583405
How is the PX4?
Non owner need not reply.

The trigger is gritty, with no easy replacement. Dead reliable and very easy to shoot quickly though. Mine's in 9mm, without much recoil to begin with, but rapid fire makes it clear how well the rotating barrel thing works.
