Pic related, but not mine. I'm too lazy to go fetch it from the pile and its dark anyway, so I wouldn't be able to get a good photo...

It's a VZ52. From when the Czechs told the Soviets to shove their SKS where the sun don't shine. Its a superior rifle IMHO. Shoots better the gas system is wrapped around the barrel so recoil is in line with the bore axis, and it's got a better LOP for people who arent starving conscript manlets.

Originally chambered in 7.62x45, which is super rare and SUPER corrosive. Got mine after it had been stored away without being cleaned and rusted to hell. The gas system was seized and the barrel was so fuzzy with rust you could barely see a light shone through it.

cleaned it up and converted it to 7.62x39 and now its my favorite raifu of all time

Would be nice to et the Blackhawk convertible, but I think using moon clips is enough hassle to be able to shoot both caliber son the same cylinder, rather then entire cylinders. There also expensive in Canada and I can not carry them anyways just bring to shoot at the ranges. Would be a perfect companion for my carbine Rossi ranch hand in 45 colt, and 45 acp for cheaper plinking

Probably my Hungarian Hi Power. I dunno why, there's nothing especially interesting about it. Shoots rather high but it still fun as fuck. Took the magazine disconnect out today and I'm planning on having it refinished eventually. Also could use some new grips. I'm considering fake pearl or wood but I can't decide.

I held one of these and to be honest, it felt better in my hand than the Smith and Wesson Performance Center 627

Now I'm thinking about going back to get this match champion beauty. It should have gone home with me the first time, but it's hard to beat an 8 shot 357 with a 5 inch barrel and a Smith Trigger job.
>>
>>32574670
The 627 Performance Center is awesome. It is also heavy and fuckhuge to the point that it's relegated purely to nightstand or range use.

The only reason the Match Champion does not retail for more is because it is made by Ruger and not S&W. If it was mechanically the same gun and made by Smith, it would go for $850 - $1000+ dollars rather than $650. I would put it on a fairly even footing with pretty much any modern S&W.

You're an ok guy.

I very much enjoy my makarov. The first time I picked one up, I came at the perfect fit between my hands and a gun with dick grips.

what is sight picture. for that anon your responding to I mean.
I think it's a common mis-understanding.
for instance, the user manual for my Ruger Security Six revolver shows the sight picture should be- top of front blade sight vertically even with top of rear sight notch and held at 6 o'clock position on the target for a POI at dead center
to me that indicates my POI is an inch or two above my POA with front and rear sights perfectly aligned.
idk if what I typed makes any sense but to me the POI/POA relationship is not what I thought it would be.
so if I was POA aiming for bullseye, I'd be POI hitting high, somewhere above the bullseye.

>>32576058
I just wish it had a Five inch barrel. Four is fine, but five would make it more general purpose.

That's interesting. As as Bong I can't have nice things, but I used to shoot what was called "precision pistol" in .22LR before the faggot Hamilton got all pistols banned in the UK, without an exceptional reason (target shooting not being one).

Anyhow, my guns were always set so that with the front blade centred and the top of the blade level with the top of the rear sight notch, if you sat the black circle that represented "8" on top of the front blade the gun would shoot centre of target. The logic was that you can lose a black front sight blade when it's in the centre of the black, but not if it's on the bottom edge.

So at 25 yards my guns shot about 2" high.

Pic relevant - UK NSRA precision pistol target similar to the ones I used

Fellow newish Security Six owner here.

What kind of ammo do you normally run in yours, and do you think that has anything to do with the POA/POI difference? I was under the impression that most revolvers were sighted in from the factory with 158 grain ammo if that makes any differences.

>>32576343
Well damn. If you had posted a pic of it from the other side, I think I might have recognized it as an MR73. Either way, congrats.

I had just recently read that stuff in the manual but havent tried it yet.

>how did you convert it to 7.62x39? new barrel and mags? or does X39 work in original mags?

Theres a little spacer you can get to put in the chamber to compensate for the case length. It comes with red locktite to put it in but had a lot of bad reviews of the spacer getting pulled out with a spent round and lost forever. So i installed mine with JB wled and havent had an issue.

The x39 rounds work well enough in the x45 mags, just have to seat the rounds to the front of the mag instead of the back, and anticipate that it wont be 100% fuck-up free. But it works well enough.
