In combat footage from the middle east, I frequently see people shooting from small holes carved into the masonry. How are these holes made? Do people carry around pickaxes or shovels with them, or at they made in some simpler way?

Bullets usually work
>how are holes in walls in the middle of a war zone made?
Gee, I don't know.

you can definitely do it with plastic explosives
Opiate addled afghani woodpeckers

seems like a heavy tool to carry around. there must be a better solution. I sense a business oppurtunity.

That's oddly specific but I say we run with it.

Shrapnel damage from earlier bombings/shootings being repurposed by ground troops.
The Hole Fairy comes around when everyone is sleeping.
either side of a hammer would work you fucking spastic

so it that what they do?
Pick up rock
Apply rock to wall
Now wall is hole and more rock for make more hole

so we use rocks then?
They carry around hammers with them but I cant be assed right now to look for a source to show you. I've seen it multiple times in footage from pretty much all parties involved in this clusterfuck of a war

Sledge hammer. It's not a middle-east only thing. It's worldwide combat SOP for masonry buildings, check out any 1980s era FM or book on urban combat.

Omg finally a real answer rather than what could happen
Walls are often weaker than they look. Shooting through cinder block is easy.
I suggest shooting different wall parts etc to get familiar.
