I'm in Mass as well. Luckily, I bought by ARs before the ban in July.

My recommendation, you can still find plenty of used preban ARs out there for a reasonable price.

Anything .22lr has been deemed to be "safe", so you can go buy a new MP15-22.

While I would love to leave the state, I graduated from med school in Boston and I can't leave my job. As much as this state sucks for gun rights, I do believe that things will get better. The "Assault Rifle Ban" is in the targets of the NRA, and GOAL, and Trump. I can't see this lasting too long. When I looked at hospitals in NH and ME for work, the best offer was $70k less than I make now. Can't justify that one.
