This. "spying" isn't usually about repelling down walls hanging upside down and shooting people with silencers like Splinter Cell and James Bond shit. It's usually just forging documents, lying about who you are, taking notes about stuff you aren't supposed to see and relaying said intel back to your country.

Nope, in real life intelligence agents don't do shit without a close protection team around them. They don't do James Bond shit, and if they did that was in WW2 when shit was crazy and hardcore.

Operator is just a term for someone involved in actual operations as opposed to exercises or training. I'd say spies or intelligence people overall would definitely qualify.
