Found a 8mm mauser for sale at a LGS what is a fair price for them.
It seems clean and in good shape.
Numbers match.
They want $350.
Got some money for Christmas, wondering if i should get this or keep looking.

what make, yugo?
>>32460297
yeah, i believe
very good deal
>>32460306
got any pics
>>32460344
unfortunately no. Found it today just browsing around.

for it to be a "very good deal" it would have to be mint like the OP or a kraut k98k. 300 is the going rate for a private sale M48

did it look like your OP pic, or did you just happen to choose an M48. 350 aint bad for one in very good-excellent condition. if its fairly beat in fair or good condition 350 is a joke. bayo included or any extras? is the bolt chromed? did you handle it, get to see the crest on the receiver?
I did handle it, didn't ask about the bayo, bolt was chromed.
It looked very similar to the one in the pic.
Crest looked like this one except a bit more worn. so the yugo crest

straight or bent bolt
>>32460483
bent

This actually matters with Yugo Mausers. M48's have bent while the rebuilt 24/47's have straight. The 24/47 also have seen use and show many signs of wear.

thanks for the information. I actually saw 2 other ones in a local dunhams as well, they were a bit more, 500 in think.

nice, sounds like an m48 then - basically a yugo k98k (although most parts aren't interchangeable) and good rifles. 350 would be fair if its in great shape like you said
also this >>32460496
24/47 were made before WWII and rearsenaled afterwards while M48's were produced after the war. the earlier made the M48 the better as they started using more and more stamped instead of milled parts as the years went on

500 is too much for a yugo, you can find russian capture k98k's for about 500 from time to time although even RC's are getting pretty spendy these days. i remember when they were only a couple hundred bucks...
>>32460367
depends on your area, in PA the m48 is running $175-$300 at the lgs

I paid 330 for one from aim, 350 is fair if it's in good shape and already had the cosmoline removed.
It's a good rifle, just wish I didn't have to order ammo off the internet.
