Basically, in a word- nope!
The blast is pretty brutal and probably the most uncomfortable part of the whole thing, you might avoid some of the flash and the bang was enough to cut through most hearing protection to the point its not much fun. Cover is very effective though, so getting a wall, couch, lounge chair or door between you and it will take most of the sting out of it.

Further, depending on what state you're in you'd need a certified magazine to store it in.

To acquire them you have to either know someone in that deals in NFA circles and or just get lucky when one pops up for sale on NFA forums.

Most bang bodys are reloadable, the flash powder charge is threaded directly to the fuze.

I've seen approximately 1 fuze/charge reload for sale on gunbroker in 3 years.
