I did and I'm familiar with the technique from my Ithaca M37, but the pump stock it a bit too smooth and my hand slid forward off it a couple times. Not a cool thing to happen with a 18 inch barrel.

I just don't really have anything I's use a Mark 23 for right now, the USP Tactical .45 is my HD pistol and my field pistol when I'm camping/hunting hogs. You over paid because you bought a lower, gutted the parts that made it a BCM lower aside from the Roll mark and grip, then added a $90 stock and $220 trigger.

A BCM enhanced LPK is $99, the gunfighter stock+buffer kit is $113. The only way that lower is worth $395 is if the stripped BCM lower is worth around $183.

That's a potential problem with every stock that has an exposed adjustment lever.
If you're going to be shooting prone off a bag often enough to worry about hilarious accidents like that, buy a different stock. Even if you're building a Block II clone, there are plenty of SOF dudes running around with CTRs and other non-SOPMOD stocks that you don't have to use the Crane stock if you don't want to.
