The plot was thrilling and it looked beautiful on top of it all. What are some other great /k/-approved films out there?

If you can deal with a bit of unnecessary "muh colonialism" and anti-apartheid racial shit, the Dogs of War and the Wild Geese are both excellent films about mercenaries in 70s/80s Africa.

Never heard of this movie. Just watched the trailer

Aside from it being muh Michael Bay muh politics, I genuinely enjoyed 13 Hours

Land before Time movies were produced in a time that still glorified the strength of the human spirit. In these movies, a rag-tag squad of dinosaurs go on various operations, including psy-oping a t-rex. All make for an excellent viewing experience but i would suggest Journey Through the Mists if you are looking for essential kino.

It's part of what got me into long-range shooting and got me to buy a SINPER RIFLE!!!1

Loved this movie. Didn't focus too much on the action, but when there was action, it was correct. Some would argue the club scene was a little bit much, but I don't think so, since it is a movie.

>>
>>32436521
"Her ethics is dumb (in the aspects of society)" is different from "bitch with dumb ethics", don't twist my words.
And she is emotional, any movie lover who pays attention to character development can see that. Claiming others "have no idea how actual humans react" just makes you look like a "I'm better than all of you" prick.

For the record, I didn't bitched about her being annoying. I like her character, which, is terribly important to Sicario. Without character like this, Sicario would be worthless, would become the kind of shit movie like "someone happened to murder my dog, as I happened to be an ex-hitman so I murder them all". I give A+ to his passion, but not enough depth.

If you don't mind ruining your day, look up what happened to the little girl who voiced 'Ducky'.

>That evening, József shot her in the head while she was sleeping, and then murdered Maria. He spent the next two days wandering around the house, and said during a phone conversation with Judith's agent the next night that he intended to move out for good, and just needed time to "say goodbye to my little girl." He then poured gasoline on the bodies and set them on fire. After incinerating the bodies, he went to the garage and shot himself in the head with a .32 caliber pistol

the more guns become unobtainium, the more stupid pleb boys and manchildren will pay for watching movies showing guns as major plot point to live vicariously through the protagonists. it's a built in and calculated feature of their socio-political agenda. I work with props in Hollywood, it's just safest to use a clearly marked dud primer or fired primer. A very, very, very small percentage of the population will notice.

The primers in dummy rounds are almost always dimpled or sometimes they'll be painted red.

Even looking for it I'm surprised you noticed.

Yeah for every kid that gets into gun from CawaDooty there is another who never bothers to pick up a real one because of video games. Took a friend that plays a lot video games to the range and he couldn't handle it. He had a Kuntzman-tier reaction. Can't reach them all guys.

There were a few women in the show, too. Just not in that unit because it's trying to be a relatively accurate depiction of the conflict.

One of the best movies I have seen all year actually.

Its about Irish UN peacekeepers fighting against African mercenaries led by an FFL guy. Takes place during General Tshombe's reign of the southern Congo post-Belgian.

Step 1 is to be in Los Angeles and have a car. After that you need to either know somebody in the department you want to be in or managed to get hired as a PA somewhere and just be cool and try to make friends with people in the department you want to work in.

I can literally trace every single job I've had back to my first one. Either by being hired directly from the people I worked with again or by getting the interview set up from someone from the previous job.

I got my first job, literally, by filling in for my friend in an office setting on a shit TV show for 2 days.

If you're cool and not a fuck up, people will want to keep hiring you because this industry is full of idiots.

Eventually you'll have to join the union which is the hardest part usually, but once you're in it's a bit easier to stay working.

That's the other issue with women in combat units, one that can't be worked around by finding better qualified women. A man's brain is wired to react differently to women in distress. Men have and will do dumb things in combat that they wouldn't have done otherwise when women are in the mix, unfortunately. That's not even getting into the issue of how tempting a female soldier is as a target for a televised beheading or the like compared to a male one.
Semi-related rant over.

>That's very impressive. How many takes ultimately did you have to do on that full day of shooting to get it all to your satisfaction?

>Greg Yaitanes: That is take 12 that you're looking at. It was actually the last take we could do that day, because we were going to run out of actual practical effects. Every time we did it, we had to reload, set up all the mortars, do everything. It's all practical. We would have takes that would almost get there, and then something would happen right there. Actually, when you see the scene, Logan (Marshall-Green)'s gun jamming towards the end of the sequence actually happened, and we were very fortunate that he went with it, because literally, we were burning the set around him. There was no going back if that take had fallen apart.

Yeah, definitely. And even then, it's not out of character for these guys to be relatively stiff even off duty in real life. Also, I think it's great to see a movie that still has a touch of idealism in a landscape littered with "muh gritty realism" and "muh shades of black morality".
