Okay, /k/, I recently turned 18. I have been a gun enthusiast for my entire life and often shot with my father, but he died about six months ago, and my family sold all his shit. So, I am left without any firearms. I have been saving up money for a while now and can muster about two thousand dollars to spend on guns. Here's my question: What do I buy, and where do I buy it? I am in the South, so gun laws are pretty chill here, but I still can't buy any pistols until I'm 21.

The 21 thing only applies to licensed firearms dealers, you can buy handguns and NFA firearms from private sales.

this, check into getting an AR or building one (it's simple and can be cheaper buying lower and upper kits on sale). palmetto state armory is a good place to start. After that, try looking for an akm variant like a wasr and buy bulk ammo for both, you're set.

No kidding, from what i've seen the cheapest option is to buy the lower and upper seperate when they're on sale. buying every individual piece can sometimes turn out more expensive then just buying a complete ar, although it is more fun to build it from scratch.

yeah, I built an A2 lower recently because no place was selling them. Anderson stripped lower and a PSA parts kit, came out to $160ish, only took an hour or so to build.

I'm in the middle of building an AR from scratch, and the only two pieces i'm missing are the stripped lower and upper. I've been writing down all the costs and so far i've spent $471.46 (including taxes and shipping costs). You can buy a complete Anderson rifle for cheaper then what i've spent so far.
