Anons I got my xmas bonus today and I have about $1k to waste.

What NR should I get next? I'm thinking about a 30-30 Model 94 if I can find a good deal on a used one. Currently I have:

I'd be careful with used Win 94s. The post 64 ones, before FN bought them may look good on the outside, but a lot of corners were cut on the internals. The ones made after 2013 are fine.

If you want a bolt-action, Tikka T3s are just under 1K. I think you can still find Cz 550s for that price, along with Winchester Model 70s.

I spotted a bunch of .308 surplus at Calgary Shooting Center, so that might help to keep costs down when practicing.

urban tactical in brantford if you don't mind indoor, bit pricey but its a nice place.

i don't know of any outdoor ranges in the west lands that are even accepting members until like end of next year, the recent shitshow of events has driven memberships through the fucking roof. silverdale is jammed, maybe galt or HAHA, not sure though. and in it's current state, i wouldn't recommend east elgin to anyone.

In my opinion Silverdale is aggressively OK. $20 for a day pass you can shoot as much as you want, no time limit. The only retarded thing are the benches and fucking stops in ALL but one ranges (the rapid fire one). I've heard really bad things from Ontario and French shooters - no Crown land to shoot on, Toronto liberals, and a anti-gun CFO (in Ontario, at least)

But I've only heard good things about BC. I've read that the BC CFO is pretty chill. Is there anything truth to that?

Sask is pretty good; lots of crown land up north, and farmers are pretty chill down south if you ask them if you can plink on their land when it's not growing or harvest season. That's on top of the crown land to the south as well.

Quebeckistan really isn't that bad. We have a couple of great ranges and in my experience the gun community is really friendly and supportive of each other. The main issue is our provincial government that insists on keeping the special snowflake tradition alive by trying to do exactly the opposite of what the federal govt says out of spite and basically childishness (eg trying to bring back the registry).

I'm sure Alberta and Saskatchewan are infinitely based about guns though.

did you remove the mag tube limiter? most shotguns come into the country packaged for int'l trade regulations and many countries have mag limits so often you will see a plastic dowel inside the mag tube to comply with those and make their life easier during shipping it across the world, just take it out (you can keep it for convenience , if the limit is correct for hunting cap, and you intend to hunt with it later, but if it's just for recreational sports shooting, you don't need to leave it in the mag, as manual action shotguns don't have legal capacity limit in Canada)

So on my SKS I put a tapco magazine in it, chambers fine, but the bolt doesnt stay open on its own. So pretty well I have to have 3 hands, one to hold the bolt open, one to pull back on the little magazine releaser and one to pull the magazine out. now i fixed the problem sorta by holding the bolt back, stuffing a 7.62x54r case into the little slot, then removing the magazine.
