Time for some science.
The tools: Left to Right
Vice
Remote firing device
Polish flare gun
12 gauge flare adapter
Aguila 12 gauge mini shell

You are going to hurt yourself.
When you do, post pictures.

If you are unsure of how these tools are to be used, please refer to the picture.
The mini shell goes into the adapter
The adapter goes in to the gun
The gun goes into the vice
L'arbre est dans ses feuilles, mari lon mari lé!
The RCMP now want to talk to me
Also, the remote firing device makes sure I don't blow off my hand or face.
I am monitoring this thread
If the remote firing is a success will you shoot it by hand next time?

Now, to answer some questions.
1) I loaded into the vice in that orientation so the wood block would ride along the vice grips and trigger the trigger. I attempted to load it the other way to protect the handgrips and so it couldn't fly out, but then I couldn't get the wood block to trigger the trigger.
2) I did not film these tests because I had nothing to mount the camera on and holding it will remote firing was impossible
3) Fire test 1: Flare gun shoots out of vice and lads in snow in front of me. Inspection of the chamber reveals no adapter, no casing. Find it in snow near where gun landed. Unsure how that happened.
4) Fire test 2: Gun flies out of vice again, but adapter is found in the chamber with shell. Assume that the chamber release lever was hit when it flew out the first time and closed when it hit ground.
Either way, the aluminium insert was not visibly distorted, nor was the flare gun itself (aside from destroying the plastic hand grips)
Uploading video of next test now.

Since It was going to haunt me forever, since the internet is clearly divided on this front, I loaded the flare gun again and fired from the wrist, while cowering as far away from my hand as I could. Result: not dead.
I then loaded my phone into the vice and as the video shows, fired from the wrist.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tizDEOwZs5E&feature=youtu.be
Result: 4 rounds of aguila minishells through the gun, no fatalities.
Conclusion: In a pinch, it could make a very illegal handgun, but every individual piece is 100% legal.
Warning: This was 4 rounds, and the first time was sketchy as fuck since somehow the adapter ended up outside the flare gun. It seems possible, since this is a steel polish flare gun, and aluminum insert, but there is no guarantee the fifth time I try this I wouldn't lose my face or hand.
Final words: In an emergency, why not. If you're a hood rat, try not to be a cunt about this.
Picture unrelated since I have nothing else to say.

PS
I did not do any accuracy tests whatsoever.
Just wanna point out something that generic pipe you use for 4winds outside diameter is 26mm. flaregun caliber is 26.5.
>>32407080
I don't know what you are trying to communicate.
quality content, op
this is the sort of stuff I come to k for
>>32407034
Pretty cool stuff, man!
Just buy a sub caliber insert instead of being a fucking idiot. You already fucked up one thing today
http://www.budk.com/Sub-Caliber-Device-For-45LC-410-Ammo-27560
OP i think you are right about the first test. the gun fell into the ground from the recoil and probably hit the break open release and the shit flew out while it tumbled then the gun closed again
can you do a torture test to see if it can shoot 100 rounds using the remote method, but secure it better so you dont destroy the gun by throwing it on the ground 100 times?
>>32407277
how is he being an idiot, his mini shell probably has less pressure than a 45lc round
>>32407034
Nice. Thanks for sharing and preventing people from losing hands/face.
>>32406970
>Unsure how that happened.
maybe because the release us under the trigger you goddamn moron
>>32407294
>how is he being an idiot
Shooting a 12 gauge mini shell out of a FLARE GUN ADAPTER.
>>32407330
so OPs adapter isnt rated to fire 12 gauge ammo? only 12 gauge flares? then yes he is a retard
sorry i thought he was doing what you suggested, using a sub caliber adapter but he did it for 12 gauge
>>32407287
>Aguila minishells are 18$ per 20 + 30$ shipping min meaning 150$ to do your torture test
Sorry, but no.
>>32407294
Cursory internet research seems to indicate the minishell has the same pressure as a proper 12 gauge, but I am not sure how that works. I think it has same powder load to conserve velocity, but less shot to shrink size. But I am no certain.
>>32407308
Yes, and I am unsure how that was actioned, since you have to pull the release outwards, not inwards, like the trigger.
>>32407330
Technically, you suggested a flare gun adapter to. You are mad that I was using 12 gauge flare adapter, instead of a 12 gauge shotshell adapter, or proper cartridge adapter.
>>32407352
thanks for the science op
oc threads like this are what /k/ needs
>>32406970
good data set
Also canuck here.
I find this fascinating.
Good job, OP.
