We already know they're producing something like the B-2; China is developing the H-20, which supposedly will be a stealthy flying wing, Russia's developing the PAK-DA, which is a bit unknown, but will likely be a stealthy flying wing as well (unless they go the PAK-FA route and make something more like a B-1B / stealthier Tu-160 / Tu-22).

The H-20 may be unveiled in 2018, the PAK-DA soon after (2020 maybe).

plus, even if they make a B2 clone that's 80% of the real thing; they will only be 25 years behind

and the b-21 will be ready by then and the cycle will continue.

Wouldnt the US be 25 year behind from buildibg detectors? One thing is the theory, the other is research. Have the US done any effort towards developing Radars capable of defeating stealth?

The US is arguably the leader in the tech; they have the best IR sensors, they have long wave over-the-horizon radars, UHF AESA radars in the E-2D, etc.

You underestimate late adopters advantage here.

Only because Russia and China would build their stealth bombers 25 after the US does, doesnt mean that they are 25 years behind, tech wise.

25 years ago, composites and stealth materials werent that advanced as they are today, computer aided design and construction/testing procedures and infrastructure far less sophisticated as now.
Not to mention all the electronics, that went from analogue standard to all-solid-state in the last 25 years.

If anything, what Russia and China will build is not the B-2 of the 90s, but closer to the B-21 of today.
