Want to buy a ruger 10-22 takedown perhaps. any thoughts input? I dont have lots of money to drop on anything big.

Breakdowns are ok, just make sure you read and remember to index your lock down point.

Personally I'd say go with a standard 10/22 as I see no huge benefit in the breakdown version.

I got a Takedown for $300 brand-new on sale at Dick's Sporting Goods. I really like it, for a few reasons. First, my living situation is such that being seen coming and going with what's obviously a rifle wouldn't be that great an idea. The backpack that the Takedown comes with is nondescript enough that nobody would recognize it as a rifle case unless they already knew specifically what the Takedown's case looked like (especially since I covered the Ruger logo with a patch). Next, that backpack itself is pretty badass - made of some really nice material, well-designed, plenty of room, and even has some MOLLE webbing on it. Third, it makes storing and transporting the rifle easy.

So yeah, I'd say that if you can afford it, go for the Takedown. I'm satisfied with having spent the extra hundred bucks on it.
