Why is slam firing not a thing in shotguns anymore? It was such a high demand feature in military shotguns that the SEALs chose the Ithaca 37 largely because it could slam-fire
We had the M1897, M1912, M520/620, and the Ithaca 37 that could slam-fire. Now, practically all manual-action shotguns feature a disconnector to prevent slam-firing.

because we have semi auto shotguns that go as fast as you pull the trigger
you can pull the trigger 3/8" distance faster than you can rack a slide 12"
Because semi auto and full auto shot guns are a thing now.

Wouldn't it make sense to keep slam fire anyway? Especially if you don't exclusively issue semi auto shotguns out. What do you lose by implementing it?

i think you should be asking why dont the manufacturers market the feature to hunters who use pump shotguns for hunting
>Pull trigger once
>Fire more than one shot
>Within twenty seconds your dog is dead and Jamal is reaming your asshole

Because most shotguns are commercial designs shoved into military service as a second thought, and most hunters are retarded enough to shoot themselves without a disconnector.

also its probably because its a feature that takes a minor amount of skill and intelligence to use. pumping too soft and the primer wont get hit hard enough to go off. and the manufacturers have no incentive to implement it, probably too afraid of the retards who will shoot someone on accident then sue claiming the feature is dangerous
is the mossberg 500 combo the best multi purpose shotgun i can get for the money? looking to get into deer/dove hunting and skeet shooting and need a home defense gun as well and i only have money for one gun atm

Not sure what the combo comes with. Make sure you get the 18" and the 28" with screw in chokes. Has worked for me in both hunting and HD roles for years.

Yes, besides the Maverick 88 combo with the same barrels. If you're strapped it's an option.
