My .22 does most things I want. I like the engineering and design that goes into guns, and having another one to shoot seems like it'd be fun.

In that case I'd recommend a revolver and a lever-action rifle in .38spc/.357mag. They're fascinating mechanically, but still cheap to shoot.

Consider the triple-safety mechanism or striker-fired design of a Glock 19. Maybe the long-recoil action of a Browning Auto-5.

Can you get a 452 threaded easily? I'm thinking about getting a 452 as a suppressor host for cheap, silent plinking.

You shouldn't have any trouble doing that, but you may be better served by getting one that's already threaded. A suppressed CZ American is a dream to shoot.
