Why haven't prices gone down /k/? The election is over, we're safe now. Why the fuck are companies still charging $600+ for WASRs and NPAPs?
because CTRs on both sides scared people into buying stuff they never needed.

Because the prices don't go down once they go up and they realize people will willingly pay those prices. If the electoral college does in fact elect Trump there won't be as many people rushing out to buy firearms so rather than slash prices they'll slow down production.
Add inflation and the increase of interest rate to the mix, you will not see significantly low prices any time soon.
I've been saying this for years, this is the fault of panic buyers and the gun community does it to itself.

$600 for a WASR is down from what it was during panic. Inflation has pretty much made $500-600 the price of entry level AR or AKs. Add in the ongoing Russian sanctions really diminishing the amount of available AKs which will drive remaining AK prices up.
Things are getting slowly better. I'm seeing .22lr actually on store shelves again and no gun stuff being perpetually out of stock.
I assume that after Trump gets actually sworn in you will see a large dump of ARs as the holdout hoarders breathe a final sigh of relief. AK prices might slightly drop to match, and could drop further if EO sanctions get repealed.
Give it 3 months. Things will be better not worse.

Go on Armslist.
I've been seeing a trickle of deals on my local listings (Wisconsin) starting after the election. Including:
150 rounds of Lake City 5.56 M855 for $45
50 rounds of Winchester 9mm NATO for $9
50 rounds of Fiocchi 9mm for $9
An Aero Precision complete lower for $70
500 rounds of milsurp 8mm Mauser for $130
New aluminum AR mags for $8 a piece
The retailers all bought a ton of stock for a Hillary election which didn't happen, so now they're stuck trying to sell stock they bought at Hillary prices. They just can't take that big of a loss all at once.

they are down $100 already on WASRs from where they were, give it til the spring and summer.
