I have a Gov't frame Springfield Loaded 1911, my son has a Gen 4 G17. I swear to God, I don't know what you jerk-offs love so much about a Glock. Gritty as fuck, vague as fuck, terrible goddamned trigger. Weird balance. Doesn't point naturally. The one and only redeeming quality is weight.
Please tell me how the hell you can enjoy shooting something with such an absolute shit-tier trigger. I'd really like to know.
1. Acknowledge that nothing will beat a perfectly tuned 1911 trigger.
2. Acknowledge that the point of a combat pistol is not a buttery smooth trigger.
3. Accept that in return for a combat acceptable trigger you also get a stronger mechanism, more resilient to midfeeds, environmental hazards, more reliable magazines and higher magazine capacity.
Also the 1911 isn't the best example of JMB's work. It is what he is known for but the locking lug mechanism has been improved upon since the original 1911 and there are other non-toggle trigger mechanisms that approach within 95% of the 1911.

>Implying that you'll ever go into combat with your pistol
Sorry dude, it ain't gonna happen, except for in some weird, wet, fettish dream. Knowing that, may as well buy something that's actually a real joy to shoot instead of HURR MUH COMBAT ARMS!

This is lazy trolling.
I was hoping for a more interesting response.
You disappoint me anon.

Different strokes
Different folks

I agree with all of this. I like both, I own 3 1911s and 4 Glocks. However the "war" gun is the Glock. I carry the Glock.
For the range and competitions the 1911 is far superior. I enjoy shooting them more
>>32338972
After shooting the 1911 I can't look at a glock the same way ever again.
>>32338984
After some of the things I've done to your mother, I can't look at her the same way ever again.
But that doesn't stop me from going over there every Saturday night.
>>32338581
Get a M&P and a trigger job. Have the best of both.

I'd really like to see you time stamp a gun.
>>32338839
This right here. If fruit loop OP only has room for one gun in his life, that's his failing as a man.
>>32338581
Grip angle is really easy to get used to, pure software problem.
The triggers need to be addressed, easy to do though.
Balance is fine for me,
1911's are a little small in the frame for my hands, need a magwell on them to not bite.

For a production polymer gun, they are hard to beat. The trigger can be made better. I've made USPSA production B class with my Glock 34.
Customer support and aftermarket for Glock is pretty great too. Though it's not bad for M&Ps, XDs or Sigs either.

How big are your hands? I've got bear paws and I have no problem with 1911s
>>32339102
XXL gloves are generally just a tad too small. I have to get them wet and wear them dry to stretch out the fingers generally enough to be long enough.
>>32339116
are you a giant? or just have fat hand syndrome?

TRIGGERED
>>32339134
6'4", just got hands big enough to palm a basketball

Faggot

Here you go
>>32339116
I've never found gloves that fit me.
>>32338581
I didn't know a gun could be either gritty or vague.

Id love to have a pistol sent off to Agency Arms, as long as I can keep the large backstrap on Gen4s
>I hope Gen5 keeps those
>>32339241
I think the back straps are here to stay. They are very popular. I love the beaver tale, really allows me to get a high grip on the gun.
I am not familiar with agency arms.

I am really not a fan of stippling but i can dig it. I want to get an RMR or a C-more mounted on a spare 34 slide at some point. Maybe when i have $600 burning a hole in my pocket.
>>32339422
Just bought an RMR, going to have it mounted to my FNX45 in a bit.

How do you like the "Roland Special"? Do you get blinded by it shooting in the dark or when using NVGs?
I actually agree with most of what you are saying. I have a browning Hi Power and can shoot much better with it than a glock, and generally enjoy shooting it more, but as a self defense pistol I thought "man wouldn't it be nice to have somehting I could just draw and pull the trigger, not have to worry about any hammers, safeties, or anything getting in the way when I draw form the holster" so I bought a Gen 3 Glock 19. I found the mid sized frame to be much more comfortable than the 17 for some reason. The Glock 19 is my self defense pistol. It stays by my bedside and when I get my license I will carry it. I can't shoot bugholes with it, and I don't really love the trigger either, but I can shoot pretty consistently with it and the simplicity ease of use and reliability is top notch.
>>32339207
I don't really like the idea of killing animals for no reason but I lol'd pretty hard at this.
>>32338581
Man I love my 3 1911s, but if I'm getting in to some shit you bet I'm grabbing the glock.
Also I'd feel bad taking my Baer in to the shit house.
I have never shot either but here's an image related to the subject
