AKs as a whole are more fun to collect with all the calibers/variations, I'll give you that.
But I think just the opposite. The vz is not a ton better, but I think it's better all around.
Cleaning is easier with quick access to relevant areas, BHO for letting you know you're empty, strips down super easily if things fit right like they do on a cz vz, stripper clips for extremely fast speedloading on mags, more comfortable with fixed stock, better folder stock than I've experienced on any ak if you actually want to quickly go from folded to firing, while being relatively comfortable

What have you used? I've used a Type 56-2 side folder, a poly side folder, an underfolder, and a triangle folder and they're all far more comfortable than the VZ58 stock. It reminds me of an AMD-65 stock. It's also a pretty big weak point on the rifle iirc.
