>not being able to fly a P38
Why live
Post planes you wanna fly all day
Macchi MC 205 Veltro
Gods damn, why are Italian fighter aircraft so sexy.
Please
>tfw no PBY
>tfw no dozing under the bright sun in the front turret while your buddy keeps her level above the deep blue Caribbean waters
>tfw no gallivanting around from port to port, taking on odd jobs or ambushing undesireables to keep outfitted and keep going
>tfw no drinking and screwing the nights away on tropical beaches

I've always preferred the PBM, the gullwing configuration is more aesthetic.
>>32325981
We Firefly now?
>>32326024
Closer to Porcco Rosso really.
>>32326039
Never heard of it, looks interesting now that I've googled it.
>>32325642
wut
>>32325981
Catalinafag from the other thread here. I want one so goddamn bad. Maybe, just maybe there's hope.
>>32327413
>>32325981
you guys have better odds of it then I have for mine at least.
>tfw you'll never own a BV-238, or Sunderland Mk.IIIa
though a Catalina would be a close third for me.
Because Eric Brown said so.

Those are actually really, really fun planes to fly.
Very stable, but light control loading. Got a few hours of stick time in a PBY5A for working on the mags and hanging a prop.
>>32327531
Fuck, color me extremely jealous. I'd figure with the fuselage hanging that low under the wings that it would be pretty forgiving and stable (which makes sense for an observation/SAR role).
Hearing things like that is one of the reasons I'd love to just go for straight GA/Recip work, ideally segueing into restoration, but unless you put years into either (and even if you do), I always get the impression that the money just isn't nearly as good.
>>32322974
For me it's either a P38
>>32328509
or a B17

Thumpin bread

The only confirmed proppeler plane kill on a jet was a corsair against a mig
>>32329181
>plane kill on a jet w
plenty of burning Me-262s would disagree
>>32329227
It was considered to be the only kill on a modern, afterburning jet, they didnt count the gerry jets
I want to fly whatever this is attached to
>>32329181
think there were a few cases of Skyraiders killing Migs as well, but i might remember wrong
>>32329181
Lots of Me-262s were shot down. Admittedly, most of them as they were trying to land, but a kill's a kill.
>>32330041
One incident, I think.
>>32326039
Tales of the Golden Monkey. It was a Raiders of the Lost Arc TV wanabee. Was cringey fun.
>>32330136
taking off too
them early jets take ages to make power
>>32330159
Ark.
Too much shit posting to spell.

MOR DAKKA

You do the math
Pic related is competing with the Catalina for ultimate fantasy, but unless rigid airship cruise lines show (fingers fucking crossed), the Cat is a lot more realistic
>>32329181
Propjob vs jet, not propjob vs rocket.
>>32333714
Disregard that post, I confused it with the Me-163
>>32330180
I'd rather have a f-k4 but yeah a 109 would be sweet. I'd suck a d for a 190 tho
