Might as well get some use out of this abortion of a thread.

I feel like the Gekko from MGS4 might be one of the few plausible, practical much designs. The functionality of theegs seems pretty similar to what that one lab has done with the Big Dog projects. Give it all four legs for stability if necessary, scale it down a bit to allow it to maneuver dense forests / urban cities more easily (and to put less weight on unstable surfaces), and design some good pathfinding and anti-friendly fire AI, and you've got a pretty useful robot battle buddy to clear insurgents out of those little nooks and crannies where armored vehicles just won't cut it.

Oh, and no retarded jumping / shitting green water, of course.
