IF you had to go into the woods by yourself in a SHTF scenerio what would your ideal loadout be?

For me
Ruger Gunsite Scout .308 - 200 rounds of ammo
Glock 10mm - 200 rounds of ammo
Ruger MKIII - 1000 rounds of ammo

The idea here is that the glock is for close encounters and bears, the .308 is for big game and long range encounters, the MKIII is for small game, which would be the majority of my shooting.

Yes an AR or battle rifle would be better but I wouldn't want something I'd have to dunk in lube every few days. I'd want something light, reliable and accurate. I'd need space for stuff other than guns and ammo
>>
the glock isnt necessary plus the 400 rounds of 308 and 10mm will be heavy. neither is 1000 rounds of .22 necessary. you might use 150 shooting at game before you die.

I think you need more ammo
>>

Seriously.

>>32279346
I'll bite. In a stf scenario that I know would bring me into the woods, I would do things a bit abnormal. For a handgun I'm bringing my glock17 with just a couple mags loaded. Fuck taking up space with lots of pistol ammo. My primary is going to be my sam7sf with 4 mags around my waist and extra ammo in my pack. My bug out bag is pre loaded and it contains a med kit, mre's, water filtration, fire starters, rope, a small cooking pot, extra mre spoon, water packets, work gloves, my e-tool, a leatherman mut, flashlight, poly sheet roll, magnifying glass, flares, purification tabs, and my trail hawk on the back. My med kit also has a tea ball to make blackberry leaf tea in the even I get sick and need to keep my food and water down.

A mora knife is inside one of my mag pouches for the ak.

Clothing and extra dry bag are in my pack too.

So, 150 days worth of one squirrel or rabbit for din din? Then you die of starvation, right?
>>
>>32280776
Not even.

Not just that but it's a good idea to bring vitamins. Humans aren't like other animals. We can't eat meat and get vitamin c for example internally just from meat. Your dog can we need other food sources than just meat. It's not the lack of fat that gets ya, it's the lack of vegetables and fruits. Starches, sugars, fats, we need em.

Check out the bit on vitamin C.
>>
>>32281036
Yup, just like I said. Read their diet.
>>
>>32281036
Their diet still to obtain needed vitamins is a small percentage of meat sources. Kelp, bulbs, berries, ect.

Savage 24 series p.
.22lr over 20 ga.
250 rounds of various .22lr
100 20ga shells from 00 to 6 shot.

Plant matter is a tiny percentage of their diet, especially during winter months. Most vitamin C is obtained from animal sources.
A decent study of the vitamin C available is a t http://pubs.aina.ucalgary.ca/arctic/Arctic32-2-135.pdf.

what kind of SHTF?
are there a lot of people nearby?
what kind of environment do you live in?
how long are you staying?

I'd leave the glock behind and bring a semiautomatic rifle like an AKM in place of the Ruger

all that ammo is going to be heavy as shit.

Armasight Predator 336 thermal imaging is a must.
>>
>>32281164
I'm right you're wrong. Lol.
>>
>>32280811
So how to avoid this? What source of fats must exist on the woods? Insects?
>>
>>32279346
where was this picture taken?

looks like WA

>10mm
>.22

Congrats on being a retard and picking snowflake ammo.

If you're using an ammunition not used by the armed forces or police then just fucking off yourself.

The only acceptable weapons are an AR15 and a 9mm Glock, since these are the only weapons with readily available ammo and spare parts in the US.
>>
>>32281323
>.22
>snowflake ammo
>not readily available
>ruger mk iii uncommon
:^)
>>
>>32281323
Can't tell if b8 or serious
>>
>>32281344
>>32281362

Give me one good reason to carry either .22 or 10mm when 9mm is much much more readily available.

Give me one good reason to carry a ruger when glocks are much more common.

Anything other than 9mm, 5.56 or 308 is snowflake ammo in a SHTF scenario.
>>
>>32281384
>9mm is much more readily available
this is false, .22 is by far the most prolific cartridge in the world
it's also much lighter and is perfectly suitable for OP's use of taking small game
>>
>>32281384
Why do you assume something being used by LE and the military makes it more common
It's just not true.
>>
>>32281413
Prolific is different than its just fucking simply sold out all the time. I have a 22mag and FML sometimes.
>>
>>32281436
>.22 is sold out all the time
kek, it's not 2012 anymore. in all the stores in my area you can get 500 round bricks for like $30-$35
>>
>>32281427
The AR15 is the most common rifle in the US. In a SHTF scenario there would (presumably) be much more 5.56 knocking around if there is military intervention. There is also a lot domestically. This also applies to 9mm, since it is the most popular pistol ammo.

>>32281413
>Hunting small game with a .22 pistol.

Waste of time. There is no point carrying around 2 rifles and using a 22 pistol for hunting is pointless.
>>
>>32281464
you can't hit a rabbit from 30 feet away with a pistol?
>>
>>32281445
Well good for fucking you.
>>
>>32281464
I'm sure the military will be more than happy to share their ammunition with civilians
>>
>>32281471
I could kill food with my sr22.
