>What does a vehicle like that have inside it?

APC or IFV troop compartment and/or turret replaced with a small office.

Communications vehicle.

Radios, high speed microwave link mast, satellite phones, more electrical generating capacity, modified hydraulics system to raise the mast, better heater, better air conditioning, comfier seats, nice table for laptops, all sorts of luxuries infantry can't even dream about and lazy signalsmen playing what ever is the coolest /v/idya at any given time.

Electronic warfare vehicle.

Same as above but made to jam and locate enemy signals. Habitants are usually either fatter or skinnier than in communications backbone and too autistic to play /v/.

Command vehicles.

Command vehicle setup depend entirely entirely on what it is supposed to command. Generally radios, computers, luxuries and pissed off staff officers. Slightly different equipment for artillery regiment, infantry battalion and brigade commanders vehicles. Usually also equipped with neat folding tent that expands working area while stationary.

>>32275883

Microwave oven. Fridge loaded with pizzas, energy drinks and soda. Booze and beer if habitants are staff officers.

Boxer, even though it is the heaviest, most expensive it has reliable German tech and Australia is able to develop separate modules for it's modular chassis. A variant with NLOS ATGMs would be nice.

>Apparently, curious why we don't go with Leopard 2's desu.

'murricans can reliably supply a lot more of Abrams on short notice. That is something Germans can't do with Leopard 2. Huge majority of Leo 2 sales since end cold war has been pre-owned vehicles and Bundeswehr is running out of surplussed Leopard 2's.

How come we don't deploy tanks
>>

politicians think tracked vehicles are scary, can't win the hearts & minds of jihadists with scary vehicles
Only by killing their leaders and bombing their hospitals can you do that.

>That's what I meant. There's no point of having tanks if we're never going to use them.

The point is maintaining institutional knowledge in operating tanks. If you dismiss entire armored corps, all soldiers in it will be reassigned to somewhere else. If armored corps becomes something necessary a while later, re-building the armored corps becomes a much harder effort. While maintaining a tiny armored corps might appear to be a waste of tax money, maintaining the institutional knowledge makes it cheaper than building up new brand new armored corps from nothing.

also, you know, in case we do need them on our soil. that and being trained in the same tanks as the americans means we can use there tanks if we need to. if the US is in a conflict and asks us for help our tankers can use their tanks. dont forget we have that agreement with them

For the price the BTR-4 really isn't that bad of a deal if you are strapped for cash.

The sexiest BTR-4 is the one with out the front windows. The BTR-3 is also nice but is a copy of the Russian one.
