is it true russian soldiers didn't even have REAL AKs when they took crimea?

I remember someone mentioning that the AKs in all pictures look kinda strange (parts from other AKs)

also why Russkis never use Scopes?

This question alone is enough reason for me to hide this thread.

What is a "REAL AK"?
>>
>>32254812
They didn't attach magazines in some cases to show their "peaceful" intentions. Otherwise everything you asked is fucking stupid
>>
>>32254819
why?

>>32254829
whatever kind of varaint the russian military has in service?

>>32255026
no thats not what I meant, I remember some dude posting here about how the AK74s from the russkis are looking strange because they seemed to be build together from different AK parts.

This one has 3 different colors and 2 different materials of furniture on it. Do you mean something like that? Because thats just maintenance with whatever you have on hand.

Some are AK74Ms, others may be the AK-100 series, etc.

Your scope question is retarded though, plenty of Ruskies buy their own sights.

Some were old AK-74 receivers brought to M standard and the Russians don't issue optics as widely as we do because the cost vs benefit isn't worth it, they're on a tight budget and much rather spend that money on hardware than a small luxury; infantry vs infantry firefights don't win battles or wars.
>>
>>32256003
No, some nerd on /r/ak47 had a very detailed write up of why they were fake.
>>32254829
one that shoots, are you retarded?

AK-100 Series is not available from the Ministry of Defence, they were never bought it.
AK-100 Series uses only the FSIN - it is service prison guards.

Many Russian soldiers themselves buy optical sights of their own money.

And at the end of the write up he says:
>"It could be that sometime post 2002, a lot of surplus rifles were converted into "74M rifles" to cut new production costs down, and that many of these rifles ended up being sold to MMG or something.
Or it could be that they issued their men deactivated firearms"
>"Tinfoil hat off"

>Taking old 74 receivers and converting them
or
>Taking old 74 receivers and completely deactivate them
Hmm which makes more sense?

Also in his write up he doesn't differentiate the two groups at Crimea.
>Marines and VDV stationed at Sevastapol, that secured the naval base
and
>"Volunteers" in Simferopol
Crimea isn't one location, in his write up all the linked pictures are from Sevastapol, meaning they aren't "volunteers", there would be no reason to give them fake weapons especially since some of the guys next to them are carrying real AKMS' and loaded PKP/PKMs.
To the "Volunteers" in Simferopol, again, most of them have brand new optics or accessories and in some photos there are guys with loaded PKMs.
And for your question about optics see >>32256028

Wonder how strict they are about personal equipment, they always seem pretty uniform when you see them out and about.

Rifle looks unfamiliar. Possible explanation is an implausible conspiracy theory, or ignorance. Yeap, Russians built and outfitted fake guns while it's easier and cheaper to use real ones.
