You just don't know how to use it. Here are some tips:

Go to the dollar store and pick up some bags of army men and cowboys/Indians.

Get a pair of cheap Walmart rc cars.

Take a shooting buddy to the gravel pit or a valley where you can set up a wide safe firing range and set up each other's army men in hidden nooks and crannies of rocks and plants, but visible from the firing line. Try to find the guys the other guy set up in your scope and shoot them. Paint one up as Waldo, invent a game around that.

Time how long it takes to disable the RC car for each guy, lowest time wins. For added challenge, use bolt guns.
>>
I love my 10/22. As of now the only upgrade is a scope and the magpul stock. I'm working on getting the bx trigger and an auto bolt release though

I own this sack of shit.

A fuckin' Clarke 1st .22 revolver. Widely regarded as one of the worst firearms ever made, evidently.

I bought it for 30 bucks from a dude at a local bar (I live in rural California), no ragrets. It's a fun little bellygun
>>
>>32264084
*Clerke, btw. My bad
>>
I have a S&W K22 that I love. Pic related, not mine-- pulled from google.

More accurate than I am and the trigger feels like it was made in a butter factory.
>>
Back when they were still "cheap" here in Canada, I bought a Ruger SR-22 and went full retard with it. A2 buttstock and grip, Green Mountain bull barrel, 2 lb trigger job, 3-9x40 scope. It's a stupid toy but I'll never sell it.

Second and third place go to my Cooey Model 82 and Mossberg 46m(b) respectively. Both rifles are just retarded accurate and great fun to shoot.
>>
My favorite 22 is my Henry, but I agree with this guy
>>32260079
Don't see the point. Made sense a bit more when it was 2-3 cents each, but cheapest you can really find it now is 6-7 cents each. For just a cent or two more I can reload a 9mm, which is way more fun to shoot.
>>
>>32261373
My dad has one of those. We have yet to see it get through a mag without jamming.
>>
S&W MP 15-22 is probably my favorite

Has all the features and customization of an AR-15 platform. It even accepts AR-15 parts.

The only part I don't like is the charging handle is flimsy plastic junk but you can get a plinker tactical one for not that much that is made of at least aluminum so it has more of a heavy standard AR handle.

I would recommend anyone who is considering an AR-15 to start with this model and see if you like it.

Also great for testing your accessories for your actual AR-15 without having to waste a ton of money.

>>
I love my CZ 452 Ultralux, but it's a little too nice to run around in the woods with, so I just picked up a Ruger American rimfire.

Gonna try it out this weekend but I noticed if you insert the mag with the bolt closed, the mag gets pushed down in the mag well just enough that you either get shaved bullets or failures to feed when chambering rounds. It's kind of annoying and I'm thinking of ways of tightening up the mag well or something to prevent it.
>>
>>32266366
That is cool as shit.
>>
>>32266669
Cz .22s are really nice guns for the price, especially if you are handy enough to clean up the last bit of polish yourself.
>>
>>32266693
Yeah it's really nice, but the 28" barrel is a little unwieldy, the mags are $30/each and don't sit flush, and it was $400 so I only use it for range trips.

The Ruger was $240, has a polymer stock, sits 10 Rd mags flush (it uses 10/22 mags) and came with a spot missing on the bluing on the barrel so I don't really care if it gets scratched. My only real gripe with it is that mag issue, but I don't feel like it'll be a real big problem. The trigger on it is fantastic, even compared to the cz.

The sr22 is my favorite 22 I've held so far. It's just such a neat little handgun that feels so good in my hands, and fits so nice in the CC pouch on my jacket. I just love shooting it in low light because the muzzle flash does a lot to make 22lr fun for me.
Normally I'm a rifle guy 100%, but I normally just go from my 900fps 22 pellet gun over the 10/22 because it has neater ammo and is borderline free to use.

My 1934/35 Winchester Model 67.

Single shot bolt action funs.

My great grandfather bought it new, gave it to my grandfather when my grandfather was in his 30s. Then, in the 1950s he taught my mother how to shoot using this gun, and then finally my grandfather gave it to me in 1996 when I was a boy.

Feels cool to know that this gun has been in my family for so long.

I recently did a mild restoration on it. Kept the patina intact but did a detail clean/strip/lube and then rejuvenated the stock with some 00 steel wool and like a billion coats of a 50/50 mix of organic turpentine and linseed oil.

It's fun to shoot, but after like 80 rounds of single shot reloads I inevitably break out one of my semi-autos.

1974 Winchester 94-22. My dad bought it at a pawn shop with his last $50 instead of buying groceries while my mom was PG with me or something like that. He refinished it and now it's mine.

They quit making these guns a few years ago. I had a gunsmith tell me that mine was "a piece of crap and he'd do me a favor and take it off my hands" *wink* Sorry bro, I'm never selling this thing.

A 1981 Belgian-made Browning SA-22, new in the box until I came to own it.

It's the perfect size, cycles faster than a Ruger 10/22 or a Marlin, is easy to reload without mags, shoots well, and looks classy.

I own some customized 10/22's with heavy fluted varmint barrels and target stocks that can dump a mag of good .22 ammo into a hole the size of vienna sausage at 100 yards (no lie), and I own a CZ - Brno 611 22 Magnum which is very nice to shoot as well. But for a woods and fields gun, the Browning is by far the best all around.

I'm not sure about the 452s trigger, I've never taken the gun apart beyond taking the bolt out for cleaning, put about 1500 rounds through it so far. Still works great.

The Ruger trigger just had virtually no creep at all. It's like pulling on an immovable object right up until the break. Its adjustable too so I can make it lighter but I haven't felt the need, at least from dry firing it. I'm getting up early to try it out before the snow comes so well see how well that translates to actually shooting it

Not really, the monocore comes out and I use a shotgun brush to get inside the barrel shroud. I say "not really" instead of "no" because the ported section of the barrel, up by the chamber, is not accessible by the user, and it will eventually fill up with carbon and lead. When that happens, Thompson Machine said they will clean it.

Related question: I've been convinced that a .22 *can* kill a deer if you get a really good head or heart shot, but many fudds online claim that more deer have been killed by .22lr than any other caliber, mostly through poaching. That seems very hard to believe. Anyone know if it's true?

I'd love to have a Ruger MKV even the expensive model.

However being a Calicuck, the next best thing is a Browning Buck Mark Plus.

I love mine, feels great in the hand, aims natural...even though I have a glock 19, If a shtf, I almost would rather grab my buck mark plus udx stainless and a dozen mags.
>>
>>32260079
...well .22lr is basically just a step above a BB gun, but don't think it's just a child's toy, the Isreali Army made that mistake and killed a bunch of protesters with Ruger 10/22's thinking they would just wing and hurt people giving them welts since they saw picures of american kids carrying them.

Honestly everyone has their favorite brand, but replace that shitty plastic trigger with a Kidd Trigger Pack with the trigger weight you want and the extra features you want and it makes the 10/22 feel like a different gun and is a pleasure to shoot.

If you really want to change the feel, put it in a magpul X-22 stock.

If sights bother you then replace em with Tech Sights.
