Hey /k/. I was looking for a pistol in .44 mag. I was wondering what you all would recommend.

I'm a huge fan of classic wheel guns, so I'm recommending the 29. Brand new or a used one, doesn't matter. It looks beautiful, like Dirty Harry's

Low key b8 m8
Ruger Super Blackhawk
after a lot of consideration about gettin my own .44 mag, this is what I settled on. I personally like SA revolvers, and aesthetics matter to me because I'm a chump.

For me, it is the Glock. The best striker fired pistol.
Something in .454 Casull.

There aren't very many PISTOLS in .44 mag, anon.
>pistol
>revolver
pick one

Well, there's only two pistols chambered in .44 magnum so the choice shouldn't be that difficult.

Is there a reason you want .44 mag in particular? Because if you just want a really powerful gun that's fun to shoot, you should consider the Smith and Wesson 460 V or 460XVR. It's capable of chambering .45 Long Colt (good for plinking), .454 Casull, and .460 S&W without needing a cylinder change or moon clips, and it's available in barrel lengths ranging from 5 to 14 inches.
The .460 S&W round in particular has incredible power and velocity--the ft/lbs of energy equivalent of a 30-06 out of a 24 inch barrel when fired out of an XVR with an 8 inch barrel IIRC--while being easier to shoot than a .500 S&W, yet retaining the capability to drop even big game from Africa.
.44 Magnum is nothing to laugh at, but it's an absolute chump by comparison in terms of power.

"A pistol is a type of handgun. Some handgun experts and dictionaries make a technical distinction that views pistols as a subset of handguns; others use the terms interchangeably. Sometimes in usage, the term "pistol" refers to a handgun having one chamber integral with the barrel,[1][2] making pistols distinct from the other main type of handgun, the revolver, which has a revolving cylinder containing multiple chambers.[3][4] But UK/rest of Commonwealth usage does not always make this distinction, particularly when the terms are used by the military. For example, the official designation of the Webley Mk VI revolver was "Pistol, Revolver, Webley, No. 1 Mk VI".[5] In contrast to Merriam-Webster[3][4] the Oxford English Dictionary (a descriptive dictionary) describes 'pistol' as a small firearm to be used in one hand[6] and the usage of "revolver" as being a type of handgun[7] and gives its original form as "revolving pistol" [8][9]"
44 mag isn't designed for semi auto use. You should get the degal in .50AE, which is both more powerful than 44 mag and more reliable in a semi automatic.

Cartridge compatibility is overrated for the 460/454. Unless you're retarded, you'll be reloading for it and you want the same brass to load. I had a 500SW and the weight of the steel X-frames just make it beyond impractical; not to mention the 4" (actually 3.25") barrels lose a lot of the energy.

>I actually don't mind the key lock on this model,
Isn't the lock prone to failure in high powered chamberings?
