You dont want a quad rail. Make sure your handguard free floats. Be prepared to spend a good amount on a quality optic. Yes you can assemble an upper/lower yourself.

I've always liked the old A1/A2 style, so was thinking about a 20" gun with a flat top reciver and gas bolck front sight that I could put a carry handle sight on and then put triangle hand guards on it and use 20 round mags for that retro look but still retain some modularity if I want to get tacticool later on. Any advice on a build like this? I'd probably try building a lower myself, but would like to get a complete upper if possible just becasue I don't have any tools or feel like messing with installing a gas system as I have trouble telling if things are straight or not.
