My stupi-misguided friend thinks this is one of the best guns ever made. help me educate him. why does this gun suck?
>>32222666
By beating MGS with only the Mk23.
>>32222666
I don't think it's a matter of it sucks, it's a matter of that all the FAMASs in service are worn and beat. They haven't been made since 2000. The F1 had some issues, and the G2 was only adopted by the French Navy.
>>32222666
The French use it.
>>32222666
There's no such thing as a "best gun ever made".
Proprietary mags
>>32222666
It's blowback.
That automatically makes it shit.
>>32222666
Why would I tell you anything, Satan?
Shooting prone
>>32222714
then explain the AK variants :^)
>>32222785
Ok.

>couldnt even fire nato standard rounds
>heavy iirc
>>32222810
im going to need some evidence of your claims there anon.
>>32222686
This. Same meme about the 92fs being shit. The guns are ancient and worn to fuck.
I talked to some soldiers (marines I think?) in France and they seemed to like it as a whole. It's very compact and pretty accurate I guess.
It's probably not THE BEST GUN HURRR but then again, nothing really is. Considering the FAMAS was designed forever and a half ago, and is only now being phased out, I'd say it served its purpose pretty damn well.

>>32222666
Objectively :
-You need to remove the carry handle to be able to adjust the sights.
-No last round bolt hold open.
-Propietary, fragile 25 rounds magazines.
-Fire selector needs to be manipulated with the weak hand.
-High carry handle makes it impossible to get a proper cheekweld when looking through a mounted optic.
-Pretty heavy.
-Barrel rifling does not stabilize the M855 round
Doesn't make it shit though. Just not optimal.
>>32222873
>FAMAS parts kits never
>>32222827
>Bullpup
No big deal if you're trained with it.
>French went through like 80 fucking variants of it
Pretty sure the F1 which is still in use hasn't changed since 1978.
>replaced with ar15 clone
Because France doesn't have the manufacturing capabilities anymore and the F1 are all beat up.
>heavy
It's really not, at least compared to the m16, considering it has a 20" barrel.
>couldnt even fire nato standard rounds
It can, well could. It's just that the NATO 5.56 specifications evolved. Famas didn't.
>heavy iirc
Nope. Certainly better balanced than a HK416, M4 or M16A4.
>>32222926
Famas isn't made of stamped metal but fiber glass.
>>32222827
Hi Cancer.
>Bullpup
Better design for soldiers unless you're a mall-ninja-faggot-fudlord
>French went through like 80 fucking variants of it
Litteraly a lie
>replaced with ar15 clone
How many fucking years later?
>heavy
The average french soldier can easily lift such a weight
>couldnt even fire nato standard rounds
Wtf u talking about nigger?
>heavy iirc
Are you autistic?
>>32222994
Castor oil for the F1, actually
>>32222827
>80 variants
>heavy
>couldn't fire nato standard rounds
Only that last one has any merit, NATO standard rounds fired through it didn't work as well ballistically for a bit. But it hasn't been a problem since forever.
>>32222810
So much butthurt. It pleases me.
