I LOVE .45acp (inb4 fudd) but it's expensive. If you're going to have this gun as your only gun for a while you should get something with cheaper ammo so you can hit the range more often and git gud faster. I suggest 9mm or 22lr.

Also 1911's have a capacity of like 8rds that's pitiful in this day and age of double stack polymer pistols.

I won't convince you not to buy it but anon was right.......45 is spensive.

I shoot it cause I reload and am super heavy invested in it.

That's a fine gun, though. If you buy it put at least 500 rounds thru it, including 50 or 100 jhp's. Run it wet cause they really like oil.

Any problems should show themselves within this timeframe.

Use factory Colt mags or cmc power mags. I've recently decided that Wilson 47d mags are not as good as I thought.

47d is an 8 round mag with a 7 round tube. The follower is modified to get the extra round in there.

I've found them to be harder to seat on a closed slide fully loaded and they put more pressure on the base plate. I've moved all the 47d mags to range use and carry cmc power mags now.
