Pretty much. Mother's first husband got physically abusive with her so she lawyered up, got a divorce, full custody of my brother, took his apartment (somehow took his parent's fridge as part of the settlement) and went on to work in academia until she met my dad. No sympathies here, be an adult.

Most people are in their own damn world and are oblivious to what people are doing around them. 3m makes some good privacy shields for your laptop though if you want to make sure no one can see what you are doing. Add a good VPN and you are good. If they happen to block standard vpn ports set up your own VPN on port 443. It's highly unlikely that this port will be block because it will screw up any site that is encrypted.
