Please debate this one for me /k/. Is 9mm an ideal bear stopping round?
Ballistics by the inch shows that 125 gr. +p 9mm out of a 16 inch barrel travels at 1430 fps. It also shows that a very similar 125 gr. 357 round has a velocity of 1496 fps out of a 4 inch 357 mag barrel.
If a 4 inch 357 magnum is what many use to take down bear in a survival situation, wouldn't a 16 inch 9mm carbine be nearly equivalent but with faster and many more follow up shots?

Capacity. The bear cannot breathe if you remove his lungs.

Thought about replying. Fucking blondes, what are you a nig? Brunettes man.

What kind of bear? That pic makes me unsure.

I would not feel "underarmed" with a G17 and some quality TMJ/HCL wadcutters in burr cuntry. Surre, If I was looking for trouble I'd bring a S&W .44Mag 29 or 10mm G20 but the G17 is good too. Also, my primary would always be a can of bear spray.

Agreed, but it was hard enough finding any picture of a bear pointing a gun at a half naked woman.

Let's go with a brown bear. Since that's what's in the picture.

Who was in the wrong here?

Because at 16" you got a rifle, you twat. And at that point you might as well get one that fires rifle catridges. You can't compare a 4" pistol to what you are describing because they are such different guns at that point. The average person is not going to switch from a concealed or discrete 4" handgun to a big as fuck 16" bear blaster.

Because k is for average people.

The only thing regular about /k/ is the amount of shitposting.

well the thing is is that 357 is far from the ideal bear stopping round, it's just the one of the better rounds for guns you can put in your holster. If you're willing to carry a rifle, there are much better options ammunition-wise for you to use
Am I wrong on this guys?

That's what I was getting at here.
