If 2D, go for a tactics game for sure. Have ammo and weight mechanics, and a FE style pairing and bonding system.

If you make a shooter (FPS), design it around concepts from Rainbow Six 3 or SWAT 4.

If it's a top-down or sidescrolling shooter (bullet hell) don't make it as chaotic as Metal Slug. Can't fucking figure out what is going on when you play that game in co-op. Heli Attack 3 is a good example of how it could be.

I'd honestly do a hybrid of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the GBA and Valkyria Chronicles. Something class based and customizable, but with clear "Rock, paper, scissors" damage systems and specific roles like World of Tanks.

Example: there are three main classes and a sub class to each catagory. Tanks beat support, support beats air, air beats tanks. Heavy tanks can endure more and move slower, tank destroyers are long range but have to reload every other turn or action, and regular/light tanks can get flanking damage bonuses or become hidden and avoid detection from all units and damage from air units when detected.

But yeah, add a bonding system or some level of customization. I would pay money for a tank waifu to be all flustered for an inspection done my the commander (player), then be more then happy to report for advanced inspection.

Frankly, it's gotta be in my top 5. It was just too fun with how the battle system was, making you think in turns and real time. The dificulty was percect too, even if it had a low tolerence for the player forgetting about exposed engines. And as generic and predictable as the story was, it felt super comfy and homey.

Overall they should be treated as walking tanks, and would be extremely effective killing machines that could work amazingly in conjunction with SOF teams or on their own.

With CCT's you could send one or two in to take out the enemy guarding the airfield and protect them as they do their work.

Instead of having SEALs run around innamountains send a squad of these girls around to fuck shit up entirely

Morale booster for your forces, feared foe for the enemy. They'd be amazing force multipliers but extremely costly and vulnerable to use.

Not really, 5.56 and 7.62 can with ease penetrate NATO plate targets. AP rounds can penetrate enough RHA to be dangerous to lighter armored vehicles and buildings.

Unless her skin is equal to few mm of RHA then she is a easy target for small arms fire. Even if her skin is equal to few mm of RHA then they can just concentrate fire on natural weakness of the human body such as the fucking face.

Well im not sure how to compare here but 5.56 and 7.62 are designed to expand, fragment, yaw etc when hitting soft tissue so they can kill the guy it strikes. Problem is that it may not do that since it is too stable etc. Now that you are striking a giant then it will yaw, fragment expand because the target is so much larger that it will have time to do that. Even AP rounds would be able to do it now.

Your giant would randomly drop dead if no medical attention is given just like the cases of criminals getting hit by small caliber pistol bullets who run around and even fight to only suddenly drop dead except it would be faster for the giant.

So you have a 120mm RR, and the giant can at most carry 10, maybe 12 rounds for it. Secondary armament of some sort would be a must, but they would also have to be entirely new production.

In order to keep acquisition times down for designing a brand new, giant sized firearm, and to ensure reliability, it would probably have to be a revolver. Most likely in the 37-40mm range.

So you have a huge target with a huge RR and extremely limited munition supplies, and a huge revolver.

Oh right, and it needs at least 350 lb's of armor to be reasonable protected against even rifle caliber rounds.

1) survivability when facing standard munitions

It'd be like getting shot with very small ammo to them Kolibri size comparatively, and/or armor that would help protect them from said ammo.

The main concern would be heavy weapons. But units have comparatively less of those, majority of troops are armed with rifles and LMG's. As previously discussed those won't harm them (Immediately at least) the main concern would be rockets, and HMG's.
