tried to crush a bottle of water by driving over it ULTRA SLOW, sub 1mph. Passenger rear wheel of a CRX, the wheel went over the bottle and it didn't pop or anything. Stopped the car and got out, it bottle was just chilling P/R wheel was ontop of it.

This was like 6 years ago, now-a-days water bottle caps are super thin and have shittier threads.

I just plain don't deal in much ammo that would fit nicely into bottles with small lids. Pic related is the only exception, all my other stuff is too big and would clog all but the large mouth bottles.

Resistant isn't the same as proof.
Although, that's irrelevant to my ammo storage needs since I'm not being retarded and driving over my ammo.

I have a small cubical cardboard box that I just pour random 9mm into when I go to the range. It holds like 700 rounds or so.

Pretty ghetto.

One time I had it on the right side of the shooting table and I guess some spent casings were falling into the ammo box. And I guess I loaded one of them accidentally into my USP mag while hurrying and not looking.

The case fed but nothing happened when i pulled the trigger, of course. Thought my USP had its first malfunction.

Cleared the pistol and realized i'm retarded.

Modern ammo has a shelf life of about a decade if you dont constantly fondle it with sweaty hands while you play cod. If you're so poor that you have to make ammo last ten years you have bigger issues

I keep fruit preserves in the range bag. Fits 250 9mm, tapered top means I can grab out of the jar without having to pour any out, which I why I don't think I would like using bottles.

Nonsense.

I store my ammo in the cardboard boxes or metal tins they arrive in. I was just pointing out that long term storage, especially in non-perfect conditions, requires air tight packaging. I dont expect anyone who thinks ammo only lasts 10 years to be smart enough to understand the concept, though.

As long as you don't unload and reload those mags over and over and over, they will be fine with the constant tension. What wears springs out is the repeated load and removal. I have a USGI that has been loaded since 2007 that I took out and fired last month and it functions fine. Still very stiff like a new spring.

Could you in theory do that with live ammunition, and attach a gas-covered rag like a Molotov cocktail and have it still work?
>>
>>32200336
>Bullet filled molotov cocktail

Intriguing concept.

Bullet casings are actually designed to prevent accidental firings as much as reasonably possible. That's one of the reasons we have center fire primers and the powder is basically hermetically sealed in brass.

So you'd need to heat the brass up enough to autoignite either the powder or the primer. This will take time and a typical molotov doesn't really heat up until the bottle shatters. At that point the fuel goes everywhere and REALLY heats up but since it's so spread out the fire doesn't last very long and considering that you're already loosing space to the bullets you might not get the brass hot enough before the entire thing burns out.

My advice its to use only a couple bullets and a lot of fuel. Even then, keep in mind that is a scare tactic. Without a barrel the shots have pitiful muzzle velocity to the point of not breaking skin.
