Fighter sorties are almost never that long (10hrs), but bomber support aircraft sorties can be.

How do pilots deal with long duration flights? Amphetamines and diapers.

Regardless I doubt a fighter would every fly for 10 hours straight. You would have to land to get more ordinance- why else would be flying if not bombing targets?

I do recall reading about A-10 pilots in desert storm who would spend up to 8 hours without leaving their cockpit, but they did land several times to get ordinance(they just never got out of the plane.)

Bomber planes and AWACS and stuff fly for 15 hours or more, but in those aircraft you can get up and use the restroom, walk around etc so it's not that bad.

I know of at least one guy who's solo'd a 25 hour endurance race. If he can do that, a fighter pilot can definitely handle 10 hours.

Fighters in places like Afghanistan would go for 8 hour missions somewhat often, just refueling throughout parts of it. If troops are in contact with enemy and need support, they can support them then when low and on fuel one guy will go to the tanker, switched out when full, and keep doing this as long as needed. Sometimes doing this for long periods of time.

Just finished my last bit of dextroamphetamine USAF gave me to ground test so when I deploy I can use them for this. Used it to study in academics and shit was awesome, never been so focused in my life.

Fighter dont just fly somewhere and drop boms. They have to do patrols and often fly to their AO. So long flights are normal. In fighter cockpits there is the facility to move a bit but it does get uncomfy on the lower back
