Just got a free rifle that was stored in a garage for 20 years. How do I clean the junk on the bolt off? There's also surface rust on the barrel, screws and other bits. How would I clean that off?
I mean if you don't mind losing your Finnish you could use a wire grinder brush.
Or just steel wool

Vinegar

This, or electrolysis.

Doesn't that rape the bluing though?
>>32170965
Gun oil and steel wool on the bolt. Would need to see a picture of the barrel to say.
>>32171204
Remove bolt first.
CLP AND BRASS BRUSH.

All you need

I'm disassembling the entire thing before I clean it.

But I already lost my Norwegian though.

I feel like im missing a reference here.
So have a picture of my D technik vz58
Here's the barrel rust

Take it out of the stock and see how bad the damage is. You may have to redo the bluing.

I'm pretty sure that he will. Might want to consider getting it hot blued as cold bluing is a bit messy.

Get a product called "The Must For Rust."
Get some q-tips, and have some patience.
But don't use it on any blued areas.

This is the best bet for that.
OP, here's a trick for getting light rust off.
>Get some real gun oil.
>Get a pre 1979 penny
>Put oil on rust spot, and gently rub with the penny
The penny will remove the surface rust.
