I got shitfaced in Tel Aviv with a bunch of Fijians on leave doing UN peacekeeping in the Golan Heights. These guys were super nice, but half of them were criminals who chose the military instead of prison. They brought along several kilos of Kava Kava and we proceeded to get even more rekt. The UN plates on their SUVs also let you park in the middle of the sidewalk but the UN assigned them a driver, I see why now. They were all held hostage about six months later by Syrian terrorists. Good times.

Not operators but k9. The army and marines came up with this program called tactical explosive detector dog(TEDD). They were regular infantry and combat engineers given a two week crash course in detection then given a civilian trained and contracted dog to work with. They were some of the dumbest people on the planet. Dogs constantly getting killed, they were pulling their dogs off scent when the dog was pulling them toward it. It was an overall massive failure of a program and they both axed it.

Traditional k9 like me have to go through the MWD course at Lackland for three months. Then you get to your base and train with your new partner for at least six months. Then you have to validate and cubs explosives with your dog in multiple scenarios. You are not allowed to miss any explosives during this test. Then you have to certify with your base commander to prove you are an effective detection team. This is all at home station just to be able to call yourself a handler.

Before you deploy you have to revalidate, recertify, and attend a two month predeployment training center specifically training to find bombs. If you fail any of this you go home and lose your leash. Once you pass all of this you go to your deployed kennelmaster and have to validate with that unit. I have seen people fail that in country and get sent home.

Now you have excellently trained dog teams that have been partners for over a year and are competent. TEDD handlers did this in two weeks and the program was a massive failure.

Fun fact. Anytime you see those articles about guys losing track of their dogs and the military has no record of where that dog went are those useless fucking TEDD faggots. Anyone that is actually k9 always knows where their partners are and civilians aren't allowed to have our retired dogs. Every dog that gets retired goes home with their handler.

I fucking hate TEDD faggots with a passion. They smeared the k9 reputation and it's taken years to recover it.

I thought the Gurkhas were absolute pump and well past their sell by date, and this was in 1963. I am reliably informed things have got worse since then. They run an excellent propaganda machine, however.

The only genuinely incompetent group of people I have worked with (as opposed to individuals, of which there are more than a few) were in a former Warsaw Pact nation, in 1993/4. They had the role of internal troops during the Cold War, and had all manner of equipment. Honestly, they were better equipped than a Soviet motor rifle division would have been preparing to cross the IGB. CBRN equipment, towed guns, self propelled guns, a vast quantity of small arms and ammunition they just kept lying all over the place. Belt after belt of link was draped over ceiling pipes. They had a BTR-80, which they kept as a gate guardian. The autocannon on the top was facing down the road, in a firing position.

A great shame, as they were drunken lunatics. They did a range demonstration with all sorts of Rambo shit in a makeshift indoor range. Jumping over concrete blocks, shooting from the hip, front and backward rolls. One of them threw his rifle to his mate, pulled out a very chrome and very tacky revolver and proceeded to put six into a target at close range. They had crossbows, big machetes, loads of explosives. I've seen a lot of armed idiots (I was one for a while) and they were by far the worst.

The remnants of an Infantry battalion down the road in the next town had about a tenth of the equipment, but were excellent all things considered.

I work as a contractor, took this picture months ago back when I was on a job and had a package shipped to me, forgot the random trip I used back then. Believe me or don't, but I have a few stories about various "operators" from around the world.

First story is just of a guy I worked with, grade A retard who kept bragging about having been a SEAL (we later found out he was kicked out of a SEAL team months after getting there). He was one of those guys who lied about everything; his uncle was a millionaire DOD weapons contractor, he had 300 confirmed kills, he was a sniper capable of mile long shots, he slept with 500 women, all kinds of shit. He actually told us he invented the modern Navy SEAL hand to hand combatives program and was an expert in krav maga, he also claimed to have been in shoot outs with the bloods and the crips. Aside from being a pathological liar he was a retard who would constantly fuck up the simplest of tasks and endangered the team on numerous occasions. The best story I have of this guy is when he thought it would be funny to fire off a blank gun (I have no idea where he got one) during a convoy. He was sitting in the back and pulled out the blank pistol and fired it right by the head of the driver, he thought it was hilarious. Needless to say he got sent home after that, all the guys celebrated.

Another group of class acts was a group of Russian French foreign legionaries. I had met them prior to arriving in country, and we met up in a nearby country to rally and touch base before all being moved by the group we were working for into the country we were actually contracted to be in. Long story short, the night before we are supposed to step off the slavs decide to go clubbing. They got their hands on some ketamine and dabbed up while driving. Apparently the 2 guys ridding in the back hit it first and got locked up in k-holes which is basically full body paralysis. The guy in the passenger seat decided that his friends didn't need help and hit the special k as well, he promptly seized up and was rendered useless. So with just the driver remaining conscious what do you think he does? Turn around and bring his boys to a place to come down? No, of course not. Our slavic friend decides there's just more ketamine for him and snorts a massive amount before getting locked up in a k hole himself and drives into a fucking wall. None of them were seriously hurt but thankfully they were pulled from the job.

Slavs in general a piss poor operators. I've worked with a lot of guys either from Russia or former USSR countries and they're almost always shit. In the 3 or so years I've been at this I've only met one slav oper8r that I'd work with again. I'm in that field. I can tell you that many of the button pushers have a sec+ and a secret. The guys that write the ROE and assignment plans are generally more experienced and have usually a few more certs but I've not met anyone with a CEH or similar cert.

BTW CISSP is usually for the compliance guys not the actual testers. Generally you'd want ISSOs and assessors with a CISSP.
