I own a model 60, its a blast to shoot 357s out of for fun, but ultimately is just too hard to handle for carry rounds. 38s are fine however, and that's normally how I carry it.

imo, no
j-frames are handy because of their light weight and small size...
.357 mag out of light-weight guns takes good practice to master..
the (usually) shorter barrels seen on j-frames reduces .357 mag velocity significantly.. this is important because the famous '.357mag power' is partly due to its ability to push a bullet quite quickly...velocity is key to the cartridge & short barrels neuter it
...another point worth making is, shooting .357 mag from a short barrel in dim light makes big, bright, fireballs which can disrupt you vision
(important from an HD perspective)
