Hey I just got my very first gun. I bought a Glock 19. Looks like pic. Since I have so much crap to do for school, I haven't had time to take it to a range/shoot it yet. What I want to know is what kind of cleaner/lubricant should I get? I plan on eventually having a lot more guns, so what do I get that would work for most gun and is not expensive.

breakfree clp. its not much of a cleaner but its a great and economical lube
Also, should I get some kind of kit?

I usually just buy those cheap Outers or whatever cleaning kits from Wal-Mart and build up from there. Those have rods, brushes, patch holders/jags and such.
I use Hoppes #9 solvent and Slip 2000 EWL lube.

A cheap cleaning kit from Walmart will do the trick. Boresnake if you feel really lazy but hand wash it after every use.
I will never understand fucks that use motor oil and other toxic/cancer-causing cleaning supplies when guns are kept a lot closer to your lungs and skin than car engines...

Breakfree CLP for the connector.
TW25B grease for the rails and barrel.
Everything else is a meme or inferior.

>ultra-expensive super meme grease
>still uses lowest-bidder CLP that gums up and attracts dust instead of a dedicated lubricant

Some CLP or some Hoppes. Hoppes makes a cleaner and a lubricant, CLP is both in one but not outstanding at either. Still plenty good though. You can get everything from Walmart. Its no big deal. When I first got into guns, cleaning felt kind if daunting. Not sure why. Watch along with a youtube video. Now my favorite thing to do when I get done shooting is sitting down and getting my firearms clean.

If you want to make something look up "Ed's Red". It's a cleaner that I use on all my guns. Tends to do better than the other stuff just because of how cheap it is, so you can slather it on.
