Looking for a full size pistol, ideally 9mm. I'm between a cz75 and Beretta 92fs. I like hammers and metal. Recommend me more pistols
>>
cz is nice. i dont like the grips on the 92 but its a fine gun. p226 or p88 are some others you might want to look at
>>
>>32145830
Browning hi power is the original double stack 9 I think, either way it's pretty cool and cheap
>>
>>32145855
I learned to shoot on a 92 so it's not an issue for me. I own a rami and just bought a jetfire 2 days ago, which is why I am looking for more choices. I've only ever heard good things about the sig but am weary of the price.
>>
>>32145863
I've had the hipower in my head for a while but I'm looking to buy new if possible. How's the reliability?
>>
>>32145830
The Beretta can be had for $325, if you don't mind some slight usage. There's a bunch of Italian police trade ins on the market right now.
>>
>>32145830
I'd add the P226 to your list, and ignoring what Sig calls a compact the P229 is pretty much a full sized handgun as well.

I'd say P30 or USP but you seem to want a metal frame.
>>
>>32145904
I think they're all surplus but it's the most common military sidearm in the world or was at one point so I'd imagine it's reliable
I've heard ones with safeties on the slide with or something about smith and Wesson parts being bad
I don't have one so this is all just what I've heard
Generally they're under 300 though
>>
>>32145911
I care greatly about condition and reliability. I know and love the 92 and that's why it's on the shortlist with the 75 but I'm not sure about the reliability on the newer ones as the one I learned to shoot on is an original Italian 92.
>>
>>32145945
I like the hi power and would like tp own one but as a toy later on. I'm looking for a newish modern pistol
>>
>>32146043
Sounds cool but the price of surplus only goes up
you could get a 9mm 1911 I don't think they're double stack but It's still full sized depending on you're definition
>>
>>32146118
I see no point in single stack full size. I want barrel length and capacity.
>>
Is the 226 really the only alternative? I don't want to pay 1200 for a non competition pistol.
>>
>>32146426
smith 5906
Tristar S120
Century Arms CZ999

I think deawoo made a metal hammer 9mm.
>>
>>32146529
Smith is the only gun on that list that isn't an automatic no. Sell me on it.

Spend the rest of the money on ammo.
>>
>>32146905
I own guns already. I'm not stupid or desperate enough to buy a hipoint
>>
>>32146915
Oh, come on!
They're fun to fuck around with, you don't have to worry about damaging them.
Just use and abuse them, and if they break, send them back to the factory and get another one for free.

>>
>>32146928
I'm looking to expand my shortlist. I know what I want in a gun but I feel like I may be overlookingpossible options within my parameters. I like the smith on first glance but i know about it only what I can gather from its appearance. Does it come in blue/black?
>>
>>32146927
As the basketball americans say, miss me with that bullshit my nigga.
>>
>>32147106
It's literally like 150 bucks.
Resale value is at least 100 bucks for one in brand new condition, which yours will be after you intentionally break it and get a new one free from the factory.

I'd say what do you have to lose, but all you have to lose is 50 bucks.

Do it you fucking faggot!

I carry an early 90's commercial Hi Power. I've replaced the springs, and the previous owner removed the magazine disconnect safety. It's a really beautiful gun, with one of the thinner slides available. I own several handguns, and I shoot this the best. The more modern equivalent is a CZ75 (which I also own one of) but they have some minor differences that put me off. CZ has a line of compact and sub-compacts that you may consider as well.
>>
>>32145904
My father in law had one in .40. Very reliable pistol and with Hogue grips very fun to shoot.

I personally like sigs, I had a single stack 9mm p225, really liked it.

I like hanmers too. I was an mp and carried the m9 for so long I created a habit of touching the hammer to see where it was set. Now I can't do striker fire for carry pistols.

The Beretta is also kind of fat but if you have big hands no problem. It will be a problem for conceal as it is fairly large for a 9. BUT you can carry 15+1. All depends on your preference, good luck man.

The US made Berettas are excellent. You may have heard that American made Beretta slides are broke during DoD trials, which is false as only Italian made slides failed. Basically, ignore .mil guys complaining about their m9s. And that is coming from a .mil guy. You might also want to look in to the 8000 series. Stoeger makes them now under the Cougar name, and they seem pretty decent. I have no personal experience to share about those.
>Pic related is my Beretta
The CZ75 is alright. I don't think it deserves the rabid fanboyism, but then nothing really does.

I like the 5906 and the 226 a fair bit.
The S&W autos can be had very inexpensively and Mec-Gar makes excellent mags that give them a nice bump up in capacity.
The SAO SIGs are really quite nice and I rather prefer them to the DA/SA versions.
>>
>>32146979
i dont think the 3 gens did, but the second gen smiths (model 59) might have. someone please correct me if im wrong.

>>

Hi-Power is quite famously a double stack. It's one of the key advancements over the 1911.
>>
>>32147354
Found out that the 59 does. Do you have any experience with it.
>>

heavy but built like a tank. DA/SA is decnet ive had better but I will always like them more the striker so its ok with me
you can get them for pretty cheap, they are one of the original wonder nines that fell out of circulation. At least sigs, and berettas are still used, but ive found them for 3-400
TDRL a good pistol, but a noticeably older one with older features that are noticeable if you try to compare it to something newer
>>

if someones going to buy one, it better be out the back of a van, 'gently used'
>>
>>32145830
92FS is inherently better

Op here. Id have to really "need" it to buy one but if I did that's how I'd buy it.

>>
>>32145830
I have a M9 it's very nice. If you're on a budget or don't want night sights and such get a 92FS or a M9

if you want night sights, lights, etc. Get a 92A1.
>>
>>32150792
A E S T H E T I C S

also won the M9 trials, so there's that
>>
>>32152178
>>32152189
A beretta is within my budget. I just want to be sure I'm not forgetting something.
