Can wen have a thread about European jet fighters?
I will start with the Panavia Tornado.
This is a study by Airbus for a possible manned replacement of the German Tornados past 2030.
>Airbus believes the operational environment in 2030-2040 could require the use of a combination of manned fighters and unmanned aircraft. Described by the company as “mules”, the latter could perform roles such as reconnaissance, target acquisition, electronic warfare and even air strikes.
>Airbus Defence & Space’s early concept involves the use of a two-seat fighter, with one crew member to be responsible for command and control and manned-unmanned teaming tasks.

Airbus also talks about reusing parts of the Europfighter for that new aircraft to shorten the developement of the aircraft.

Doesn't even seem that stupid to me. I would make it a bit bigger though so it can make use of some kind of Meteor-ER or whatever is cooked up in a decade or two.
Air fighting will be more like chess in the future and with Russia as the main threat it is gonna be numbers and not stealth one has to worry about. Coordinating stand off attacks with long range munitions against either flying or ground based opponents is gonna be key.
>no love for the yuroplenes
come on /k/
