Technically a 10/22 when I was too young to purchase, so went to the store and had dad fill out paperwork and paid with my life savings up to that point. I was probably in my early teens.
But I count the sks as my first "real" gun. Sorry to 22lr lovers out there, but I barely consider 22lr as less a toy than a decent pellet rifle.

I gave my Dad the money when I was 19. In my state, you can carry and possess a pistol at 18, but not purchase.

He didn't even walk out of the store with it, has never shot it, nor had possession of it. Not sure if this qualifies.
