To actually answer OP's question, mostly I sat in a hide, usually inside a building, and watched a bridge or stretch of road to make sure no one set IED's or took down the wanted posters. All that stuff most people think snipers do IE crawl through bushes, infiltrate the shit out of hostile terrain and shoot people from a mile away? I never actually did any of that in two tours. The biggest moment of note was when my spotter and I were watching a goat path in the middle of the night and a bunch of rag heads come down out of the hills. We called it in, they kicked it up stairs, then the hillside started exploding.
