I can't remember but I think it was primary arms, AIM or someone. They were running a deal for 420 cans + magpul mags. I did the math and after removing the mags from the cost the ammo was going for .32 per. That still isn't a good enough deal for me so I didn't buy.

One of the Vortex Viper's at 3-9x40 or 3.5-10x50 would be better if you want to stick with Vortex in the same price range.

PTR is not a DMR, despite what the Germans think. It's a battle rifle. At 3x or 3.5x, you can still fight with it. At the range where 9x or 10x is useful, you're at the end of a PTR's range for accurate fire. You can shoot further -- 700 yards, 100 yards -- but a more powerful scope can't help you make hits when the grouping opens up to 16 to 20 inches.

Just checked a site that collates velocity tests. The 55gr Magtech is equal to the Federal XM193 55gr in their testing. No inforrmation on 77gr. It's a shot in the dark unless you can find a source or two. If you're shooting 77gr, you want full powered loads to take advantage of that ballistic coefficient (BC).
