This guy's like the ultimate poorfag, he's got a blue hat, unpainted rifle, black holster, and you're cherrypicking his tan canteen pouch? I don't think his primary concern is concealment. Especially considering he isn't wearing a camo pattern.

Nah, It's a PSA with a CHF barrel. I got it a few years back before I knew the ins and out of building rifles from scratch. I did change the furniture around a bit.

I have better rifles but I just prefer using the PSA.

>M1 Carbines will never be cheapo rifles again
>.30 Carbine will never be available again
I remember shooting an M1 as a kid and loving it. It's exactly what I want in an outdoors gun. I liked the fact that the caliber was somewhere between an intermediate and a pistol caliber, I liked how compact and maneuverable the thing was, and I liked how soft the recoil was. Is there any gun out there like this anymore, or should I just suck it up and get a 9mm carbine? What good options are out there that are widely available? Sub-2000s and Beretta CX4s are unobtainium here. What should I do, gear queers?

It just makes me sad that there's nothing widely available in that little niche between intermediate and pistol cartridges anymore that will fire reliably out of a semi-auto. If Ruger still made the Deerstalker, and somehow managed to make .38 Special reliably fire from a BX-25 type magazine, that would be absolutely amazing. Would make a great little hiking gun if you put it in a polymer folding stock like the old Butler Creeks and slapped a little short magnification optic on the top.

>>32087976
I contacted Dr.Mervin himself over facebook and got him to build me a coyote brown lv-mbav from scratch with some Custom mods.

from what I've heard from people the Toy soldier PC is terrible compared to the Dr.M's lv-mbavs.

That four-way stretch fabric Dr.M and Crye uses makes it worth it.
Toy soldier uses only a two-way stretch material which TBQH makes it no better than the other PC on the market and infact probably a little worse since it's a bad chink knockoff to begin with.

It's heavy. About 2 pounds ish. It works with my gear, being a MSA Nexus U-94 Amped ptt and Peltor Comtac III ACHs. It transmits just fine across the 102 acre (((airshit))) field I go to, and the antenna sticks out a ton. I am going to re-route a real harris whip to the pack of my PC because fuck it I can, and to give better range. It is bulky but it's also rugged, it survived me falling into a river fine and has been through a couple rain storms without problem. It is complicated bein a multiband radio but once you get the hang of it it's not that bad. I give it 8 out of 10 pretend operator stars.

Don't know how many guys here have experience with Drifire, but I recently burned 1k on some clothing from them.

I'm usually a "Crye or Die" kinda guy, but the Drifire Navy type combat shirt is probably the best fucking combat shirt I've ever worn. It's got an athletic cut, is super soft and FR to boot. It's a bonus they cost less aswell. The gen 2 hexar stuff won't be out till next year. But the product is patented as of last month. Shoulders was iffy but hoplite makes a multihit lighter weight equivalent. Cost was roughly the same think I was quoted 300 each for rifle rated stand alone shoulder panels for eagle daps. shouler system I running was roughly 750.00

M81 Woodland Crye on left and Multicam Drifire on right.

Major differences: The Drifire uses a non adjustable elastic waist compared to the tab adjust on Crye. Drifire is shorter with a more athletic cut. Drifire uses zippered pockets and removed the ankle pockets. Drifire also uses internal kneepads compared to the semi-external Crye ones and also came from Drifire with knee and elbow pads included.

The reason Drifire gets less hype, is probably because buying their products is a bitch and a half. Had to jump through a lot of hoops to get this stuff.

Correct and if you buy direct your going to pay almost double what crye pants cost. Since you're paying government contract prices so to speak. You're better off buying platatac tac dax mk 3 pants at that point if you're in the market for top end pants. >>

Alright, so here's the explanation.

Drifire does not sell any products directly through their site, you have to go through a listed distributor. You can buy most of their basic products easily that way (i.e the Multicam Foretrex pants) but kinda like Crye there exists a behind the counter menu of the really good stuff like the M81 Crye pants for example.

I had to directly contact a sales representative from the parent company of one of their distributors and request specific products by item number. And even then, they couldn't guarantee sizes or stock available.

In a couple of months I'm going to re contact them and see if I can't swing some of the AOR Crye pants.

As far as LBX is concerned I felt there product quality was compared to standard issue stuff in the air force. You can tell when you handle LBX products. They are charging to much for the work put into it.
>>
>>32103802
Crye, you're shit out of luck as others have said before. Lots of limited issue/limited production stuff going on.

Drifire item numbers can be found by just looking through the catalogue on their site. Went through ADS and Tactical Distributers direct contact with some convincing. The good stuff is usually limited availability because most of it is going out to whatever SF unit gets issued them.

I purchased a bunch of LBX stuff when LBT first launched the brand. Of course, back then they didn't try to pretend it wasn't marketed to airsofters...

I nabbed like a dozen things in that shitty "Project Honor" camo for a hundred bucks. Either lost or trashed most of the stuff because it was very clearly made for kids whose parents wouldn't buy them real LBT. Kept the assault bag for gym clothes though.

Left to right is: TAD/Rocket World era Ranger Hoodie, Drifire Mock Fleece and an original Arc'Teryx Naga hoodie.

I've worn the Naga out in the field before and the hood fits perfectly under an ACH. Stays pretty damn warm with just some mild exertion.

>>
>>32104297
Si, nothing special. We use the g3 combats and g2 field pants. Crye took the G2 field pants and added g3 stretch panels but kept the internal knee pads I'd buy the shit out of them. I know drifire makes a product just like that but I prefer to spend 180 on pants and not 600.

I get it, lots of smaller boutique nylon places run into the same issue. But cutting and running is not the answer and speaks of shitty character more than anything...

Could have notified people of the issue, reorganized orders into different priorities and offered a refund if people didn't want to wait. Guarantee people would have probably stuck by him if he had done that.

good idea or nah?

>>
>>32104567
I mean go for it if you want, but the point is a cheap stock platform that serves a singular porpoise. If you really want to do all that go ahead but you are basically designing a whole new rig at that point.

>>32104535
guaranteed man, I know there are a lot of 'autists' in this area of interest, but the rest of the populous genuinely give a shit about what they buy/look into. IDK I don't want to seem like a prude, since the customer doesn't know shit about running a bussiness, but I did kinda feel a decent amount of disappointment when I realized they were gone. Something else must have been up with him and the company. RIP tho. Hopefully some other good brand will step up to their level in design; going back to my first post it seems that Drifires new pants are the closest thing to Kratos I've seen. Crye style/quality pants usually always have been not as form fitting and always have the Crye knee pads.
>>
>>32105393

Thanks man. Anything else I should know? I'm thinking of fielding it ontop of my frag vest. Just need to find a way of fitting 2 frags into it and I might get it. Looking at other vests too.
>>
>>32106042
I don't know where you would put two frags aside from maybe across the bib...

It has 4 2x mag pouches with buckle flaps and elastic retention. Will also fit an MBITR supposedly. 2 side plate/GP pouches with elastic keepers inside to keep shit from shifting. And 2 smaller radio pouches on the backside inside of the vest. Not sure if they're for an EF Johnson/ICOM or a bigger radio.

Also keep in mind that buying just the vest will not come with the harness. You need to buy that separately.
